Works great
I was suspect of this DI box as the prices is so good, but we have the single channel Beringers and they work great so I thought I would give this a try. It's great. Very quiet and perfect isolation and no detectable distortion. We have a 125foot run though the snake back to the sound board. We have used it with electronic drums and acoustic guitars.

Excellent DI
Works well, sounds crystal clear (to me), has some tweak options which I've actually had to use. I am using this unit to provide a multi-zone background music setup with very long (180') balanced runs to powered speakers (B215A) from a bunch of $9 USB sound cards (monoprice) off a Linux box running MMPD. Works as advertised, zero noise. In fact, with this setup things work perfectly with all switches off: Sound card -> DI -> Mixer (Alesis 12R) -> Speaker But in this simple setup the amplification is just excessive (booming pops) and it works great with the "-30db pad" switch enabled. Sound card -> DI -> Speaker While in some setups having a true volume control on each channel might have been better than just a "-30db" and "+20db" switch, that's really a job for a mixer so no complaints here, I'm just grateful to be able to get a sub $100 8-channel unit that works reliably. Have not tried phantom power, have it in a server rack, mains powered.

Well built and does the job
This DI box is great. There are 8 channels and the device can be powered either by standard 110v power or phantom power via the XLR cable. I found this to be a very good value.

Great compact solution, but still has it hickups
It's a great priced unit. Behringer sometimes shines in it's price to performance ratio and quiets down the talk of the brand as "cheap" (you should get to know the x32 compact EXCELLENT for the price) but it does has it issues. First turning the power onto this unit, sends a really loud pop through your PA, or interface. Louder than I had expected. It also adds white noise into the System. To combat these small hickups, I usually turn this on first, then the speakers, and might buy a desser, but since it's minimal, I'm been dailing in the adjustments to most channels. The setup where this is install is pretty sophisticated, and has a chain of several processors including feedback, autoeq's, speaker management, delay, compression, and automated enhancers to name a few however you can't filter everything. It's not a whirlwind, but it is worth it for the price to performance.

GREAT ITEM - EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED - WORKS GREAT!!!!!
We had some older direct boxes failing and decided to replace them with this all-in-one unit. We also purchased a 4-space rack, a power conditioner to mount in it and some new cables. The DI box and power conditioner went into the rack. This is placed near our plugs on the stage and the XLR cables hook everything in. We have longer cables to plug in bass, guitars, drums, etc. It keeps everything neat and tidy and makes it much easier to set up and tear down the stage at times when we need to do that. It's got some great features, some of which we don't use now, but they are there for the future.

Excellent value and operation.
We use a pair of these for the band in our church (about 6 months now). It works well, is quiet, and was a great deal for an 8-channel DI box.

All-In-One
Update 8/13/2021: Three channels no longer working. Tested all XLR cables to the mixer and they are fine, but when plug them back to this unit, channel 2, 7, 8 no longer work. The rest of the channels are fine. I'm disappointed. Remove two stars. ---------------------------------------- I have few DI boxes on my small coffee shop stage. Some work and some don't so I bought this one to replace all of them. Work very nicely.

Was soll man sagen, eine DI-Box eben. 8 Kanรคle, unbalanced Output via Klinke, balanced Output via XLR und einen Link-Anschluss via Klinke. Zudem noch ein +20dB Taster fรผr mรผde Signale, ein -30dB Pad und ein Ground Lift. Also alles was eine DI-Box braucht, in 8-facher Ausfรผhrung. Das Gerรคt ist klangneutral und produziert auch keinerlei Rauschen o.ร. Die Anschlรผsse kรถnnten zwar etwas besser verarbeitet sein, fallen aber vor allem zu dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhรคltnis kaum negativ auf. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

I use it to split the instrument signals going to JamHub so we have an independent mix from the mixing board to the speakers than the personal mixes we hear from the JamHub.

I bought this product to fulfill a few roles. Which it more than adequately meets. 1) I wanted something to sit between instruments and mixing desk as my desk a xenyx 1622 has global phantom power, and although it may be possible to route phantom power(accidently) to passive pickups its a little more problematic with active pickups with more sensitive electronics, not to mention the cd player and computer that are sometimes routed through the desk. 2) I wanted to make use of the line inputs on the mixing desk for instruments. 3) The price difference between the di 800 and di400 is minimal, so more is better (i bought he 4 channel compressor on the same basis. Pros. 1) mains and phantom powered, so there is there option to avoid mains loops by powering directly off the desk, but NB phantom power is per channel. There is a ground lift switch which does alleviate the problem if using mains power to power the device. 2) a multitude of connections. On the front unbalanced input , link and unbalanced out on the back xlr out (enabling long cable runs if necersary. 3) -db and +db switch -db works well when connecting anything via a headphone jack an amplifier +db I've found occasionally useful for boosting the signal from a guitar with passive pickups. cons 1) discrete + or - dial would have been nicer than a switch but then you have these controls at either the input/instrument/source end and at the mixing desk power amplifier end( one possible configuration is to use it to go straight into a power amp turning pa into instrument amplifier in one fell swoop) 2) NO XLR input which will preclude use with some microphones/ devices. How I'm using it ... The link output is worth its weight in gold and allows the di to double up as a patch bay. Basically I have the instrument plugged into one input and use the link to connect into the next input, thus one instrument can occupy 8 channels (In my setup 4 at the moment) this is useful as each channel may have seperate effects, eq compression etc inserts on it and they can all be accesed without plugging and unplugging and perhaps as importantly they can be mixed. the unbalanced out, by connecting an amp or other device will provide a monitor for a specific channel which I have yet to use but does have obvious potential where the unadulterated input signal is require somewhere else either raised +db or reduced -db to something closer to line level. A useful if not astounding piece of kit, basically it depends where you are in building your rig and what you are going to use it for. my list would go 1) desk with at least some basic effects, the more balanced/xlr inputs with insert points the better and usb to save having to get yet another piece of kit to record on computer (though I prefer a tascam/zoom etc to record on) 2) and 3) compressor and/or effects rack 4) the di box as by now you'll want some flexibility connecting it all up ! Why behringer (most of my kit is...) price price and quality for the price ) It works well in a home studio enviroment, possibly not quite as robust as some other makes but then its also at the price of I can afford to replace or upgrade it if some idiot (even if the idiot is me) manages to blow it up .
