Need wood.
It works as designed.

Need some work to function
The threaded rods are so rough that they will not function without quite a bit of sanding.Buy other kit.

If you are a wood worker, you'll wonder how you have gotten by without this vise.
Build your own Moxon vise. The only negative is that you'll need to get plans elsewhere, but the provided hardware is of high quality.

No instructions.
Was fine, but would have been better if it included instructions.

What can one say. this was made in China, and it is a piece of crap
The two shafts are slightly different sizes, so the nut will not engage. From the looks of the bag it came in I would say this was returned once befoe.

Meh.
Fortunately, I did not run into the problems that other reviewers did. All of the parts are sized and threaded properly. Unfortunately, the overall look and feel of this kit is quite underwhelming. The threads -- although cut cleanly -- have sharp ridges. Several of the parts are starting to rust. And there's just an overall rough / cheap feel to it all. It's still useable, but I'll probably do a bit of cleanup before trying to do anything with it. In the meantime, I'll keep my eye open for a nicer kit -- hopefully one with Acme threads, so it's less likely to bind up in use.

Usable, but Quality Issues
I've wanted a moxon vice for a while, and was excited to see this pop up on vine.I checked the threading because of what another reviewer said. The hex-nuts threaded ok, but weren't as smooth as a lot of other hardware I work with. The first handle threaded mostly ok, but was noticeably rougher. The second handle only threaded about 1/2 an inch before it stopped and would go no further.I eventually got the threaded handle working "ok" but only after screwing and unscrewing it a bunch of times, with some force. Over time and with some lubrication, they'll probably move freely, however, the threads were damaged, warped, or perhaps even clogged with the coating. If this is significantly discounted, it might be worthwhile, otherwise I'd recommend getting another moxon-vice kit.
