Liberty MountainField Repair Tension Lock(1-Inch)

Works awesome very easy to use

I had a prior tension lock that only worked because I tied a knot in the strap. I kept the backpack for years using it this way, in a limited capacity. Just when I was doing some spring cleaning, I came to the conclusion that I would toss it because I simply could not use it as I used to any longer. The adjustability of a backpacks tension/height is very important for me and I could no longer do it. Out of sheer, dumb, luck, I stumbled upon this product and figured if $6 could save my $80 backpack it would be well worth it. I am more than happy to report that it worked perfectly! While the replacement tension lock is not an exact match, it looks similar enough in color and style to blend in well. Installation was simple. The hardest part (still very easy) was cleanly clipping off the old tension lock without damaging the strap. Took maybe 2 minutes in total to replace and test the replacement tension lock. I am more than happy to have my favorite backpack in full use again. Should this product not hold up, I will report back accordingly.

Very sturdy and easy to attach to my backoack

I have a very special backpack bought in London in 1999. Nothing since is as useful so when the right buckle broke I looked into having it professionally repaired. This product is great. No sewing, no difficult manipulations. I easily installed this and replaced the unbroken left buckle as well. Why? Because this is even stronger than the original buckle. Great idea, great price, and save yourself from buying a new backpack.If you have a backpack or bag that has lasted 17 years, you know the new stuff out their is not as durable. Give new life to your old but reliable equipment. I'm rating this 5 stars for easy, strong, and the best.

Saved me $100! My new puppy chewed the buckle off my my lightly used Chacos. I was so bummed, and thought I would give these a try before buying new ones. Others on the market require you to use a seem ripper and to resew the buckle on, but not these. As far as I can tell this fixed the issue and saved me the extra $$$. Also I was surprised to receive 5 in the pack. Was expecting just 2 from the pictures.

Pokemon is our favorite and Mom couldn't find the EXACT SAME backpack! We were so sad and mad at Mom. Luckily, this tension lock replacement came quickly (Mom doesn't have Prime but it was here in 2 days with free shipping...???) And it was easy to finish breaking off the flimsy original tension lock. The new one slips on easily, but will take much effort to take back off, which is great because why would we ever want it off? This replacement tension lock is 10x more sturdy than the ones that come with the backpacks kids love. Mom wants to order more and purposely destroy any future purchased backpacks to replace with these. But Mom won't, she talks in the third person, but she isn't THAT crazy 🙄

I have a Swiss backpack that I really like but the buckle was broken by a freak accident going out of a door. I tried to repair it but the repair only lasted a few weeks and I lost the broken pieces. I found this buckle on Amazon and based on the reviews it sounded like it might work. I was worried that the gap that allows you to install it would allow the buckle to slip off, but nope! It's tight and snug and will not slip off at all! I was also worried that it wouldn't hold as well as the original, but nope! It looks similar and holds great! This repair buckle/lock literally saved me from having to buy a new backpack (worst case) and now I have a spare buckle/lock if something should happen to the other one!Update after FOUR years: it's still working great and I had forgotten that the original ever broke!

So far saved my favourite knapsack of 15 years from the trash bin...giddy-up!
