This is a review for the downsized version. Please see pics for comparison to the TYR long hair cap and this cap. Quite a difference. I was looking for something for casual swimming hair protection and I think this will fit the bill. Using a well choreographed dance in the pool shower stall, I am able to get my hair into the TYR cap and am very happy with it for lap swimming. It is quite form fitting and keeps most of the pool water out (although I do saturate my hair with tap water prior to putting it on- the purpose to keep as much chlorine out of my hair as possible rather than keep it dry). Not fashionable, but gets the job done. So I was wanting something else that I could use to keep my hair dry while hanging out with kids at the pool or beach, that I could get in easier and wouldn't look like I was about to start a triathalon. This cap is nice and roomy, not tight at all and I have more than enough room for my single braid of hair. It is made of a lighter weight and stretchier silicone than my TYR cap and the opening is larger. This should do fine for "hanging-out" but not "working-out" at the pool and will also work well as a shower cap. I do not think I could use it for lap swimming or trust it to keep the water out as well if I put my head totally under water because the opening is much looser. Hope this helps those trying to figure out what size you might need for your hair quantity and activity level.

This cap took some getting used to but overall I really like it. Pro's: Truly fits all my thick, long hair. In fact, there's plenty of extra room. I don't have an afro or extensions or dreads, but I bought this cap specifically because all the other caps I've bought prior never have enough room for all my hair, even though they say they are made for long hair. The material is thicker than previously owned caps. Hopefully it's more durable because of this. Feels like it will be It stays put. Over my ears, on my forehead. I don't have to constantly pull it down every lap (like other caps). Cons: Took me awhile to decide if I liked wearing my goggles under the cap or over the cap. Over the cap keeps air pockets to a minimum. The more air, the more it acts like a floatation device. Will not work well if you are racing and going for aerodynamics. Fortunately, I'm a slow swimmer and don't care that it helps keep my head afloat. Maybe if I had more hair and filled the cap this would not be an issue. It also pushes my goggles down and this can cause some discomfort for my eyes. I have found this to be my preference though and I just set the cap a little higher on my forehead. This doesn't make it as waterproof, but that's not my goal as caps are not meant to be waterproof. I use caps to keep hair out of my face. If I wear my goggles under the cap then the goggles are more comfy, but the cap fills with too much air and I bob on the surface like a buoy. This is sooo big I can easily put my whole head inside of it. This could be dangerous for a small child and suffocation. I actually do put my whole head inside when putting it on cause it's just easier to adjust that way, but do be cautious. Overall I like this cap more than any other I've used and would buy again.

This is the only swim cap for locs that has ever fit me, even when my locs were shorter. I have nearly waist length locs, and this fit perfectly. It is a little tight around the band of my head but, I’m sure it will not allow any water to get through. I don’t think my ears will fit but, I’ll try again. ***UPDATE*** So I’ve used this cap once since my purchase, and my hair got partially wet, and I’m not sure how. The fit was snug around my entire head so this is puzzling. Only the scalp of the back of my head got wet, so I’m not sure if I discard it.

I purchased this swim cap because my child has a lot of hair and had outgrown their current swim cap in a kids medium size. I thought moving up to the large size would be the perfect solution, but unfortunately it ended up being way too big for my child’s head, so I had to send it back. The color is great, the material is high quality, and it is very durable, so I still believe this is a great product. I would say just be careful with sizing, especially for younger kids. It may work much better for older kids like in their teens or adults with long or thick hair, but it was not a good fit for a small child.

I really wanted to love this swim cap. However, it failed me. I recently took advanced swim training to help polish up my skills as an trained swimmer. Unfortunately I did experience bubbling from the cap and water coming into the cap during swimming in my training session. I do like that the cap does very comfortably fit and cover my head and hair well. It can even cover the ears. I tried wearing it covering my ears and another swim session without my ears covered. It seemed really sealed well on my head without giving me a headache nor causing any damage to my edges. I made sure to push any air pockets out of the cap as well before doing any swim laps or diving. Even before diving and I was just swimming freestyle and backstroke, I kept feeling the cap slightly move and then it did air bubbles every time my head was back in the water. I finally ended up taking the swim cap off because it wasn’t keeping my hair dry and the bubbling kept distracting me while swimming. My hair was wet when I took it off by the pool side. So I’m out of luck for finding a swim cap that will keep my hair dry. Chlorine water consistently on my hair is not good for the health of my hair. I don’t know what I will do. This was my last hope.

My hair is sometimes flat to my head and other times I have it in long braids (48in). I have used this cap many times and suggest it. While my edges and perimeter of my nape will get wet, overall, my hair is dry. The fit of the cap works all the time, even when the cap is "empty," because I make sure I push out any air. Also, I love how thick the cap is, I'm a tugger, so the cap being thick makes sure I can put it on easily and not have to be gentle with the process.

Cogí este gorro porque tengo el pelo largo y me cuesta que quepa con comodidad en los gorros normales. Pero el gorro de talla XXL es demasiado grande para mi, es enorme. Me sobra muchísimo. Creo que es ideal para gente que tenga el pelo muy muy largo o para pelos afro largos. Aun teniendo tanto espacio dentro hay que recoger el pelo para poder colocarlo correctamente. Con el pelo suelto es complicadísimo colocárselo. En esto es igual que cualquier otro gorro de natación. Sin embargo tengo otro gorro de esta misma marca de talla XL que es mucho mejor de tamaño. Es casi para cualquier melena media. La calidad del gorro se ve excepcional. Es algo más gordo que los gorros normales y se ve muy resistente. El ajuste a la cabeza es perfecto, quedando las orejas tapadas y cubriendo totalmente el pelo tanto por la frente como por la parte de atrás. En estos momentos no he podido probarlo en la piscina porque estoy lesionada pero, viendo como ajusta el gorro, me da la sensación de que va a proteger bastante del agua y si entra, será poca. En cuanto comience de nuevo a nadar actualizaré mi reseña indicándolo. De momento le doy 5 estrellas porque me parece un gorro de muy buena calidad y protege mucho más que otros.
