Exact replacement for washer

Good replacement, looks different than original
It wasn't long after getting an LG machine that I started getting the dreaded "IE" error message (intake error). That meant the filter on the cold water intake line had to be cleaned or replaced. A quick google took me here.Note that these filters didn't look like the original existing filter (the existing one was light blue, shallower, and had a metal screen), but these actually work better (the deeper cup makes it easier to remove and clean).I have the machine hooked up to well water, so sediment builds up constantly. Pulling the old filter eventually damaged it (since it was shallow, I had to push it in deeper with a set of needlenose pliers), so these replacements were very helpful.I had to change these filters often until I installed an in-line water filter on the line. If you're having to replace these filters often, consider an inline fileter.

Fits LG WT5170HW & HV too.
I KNOW these fit my model wt5170hv even though they were not listed. I THINK it is pretty much universal for all lg machines whether your model is listed or not. I pull these annually to clean out the grime that accumulates from our well water. Our machine has received error codes and not functioned properly because these get clogged up. Each time they get damaged a little bit more. I finally needed to replace them and couldn’t find my model listed any where. These fit perfectly.

Works on Speed Queen Too (see disclaimer)
These worked perfectly on my Speed Queen washer after I painstakingly whittled down the outer diameter with a sharp utility knife and sandpaper from 0.78" to 0.75" for a custom fit. The water flow is improved too since there is far more inlet surface area than the slightly domed OEM stainless steel screens.

Perfect OEM LG Washer inlet filters. Don't use your washer without them.
Perfect OEM Product. Quick delivery. Don't use your LG washer without these. I will always keep a few spares around and recommend you do too. I did not clean out my old ones that originally came with the LG washer and eventually, I started having problems with washer fill. I never cleaned these and I broke the original ones that were 5 years old and did not replace them. 3 months later I had an internal valve leak because a piece of material kept the valve open, getting through because I did not replace the filter with these original ones. I now have these original filters in and have had NO MORE PROBLEMS. These are the original filters from LG and the only ones I will ever install.

Who knew this was a thing?
If you're thinking of buying these, you know they exist - which is ahead of where we were when we started. They turned up as a suggested item when we got the dispenser assembly, and WOW what a difference those two things made. We have very hard water, and the filters were almost completely calcified. Now that we know they exist, we'll be doing them once a year.

Perfect OEM replacement
Perfect OEM replacement. Arrived quickly. Very happy and will buy again. Purchased 2 packages but now I think I should have bought six or eight, because they are very inexpensive and should be changed about twice a year depending on your water and washer use. These can really impact how well your washer works. Easy to forget about since they are on the back side of the washer. If you haven't changed yours in a while (or, ever?), you need to do it and these are the exact ones you need for your LG washer.

Simple fix. Consider new valves.
These are good but didn’t work for me. In my case I had to replace the water inlet valves because the cold water one was shot. I got both hot and cold water valves at a local appliance part supply store for about $80 total. I found a video on YouTube which explained how to replace them. It’s surprisingly simple.
