The Poolmate Hydro 4 does a great job cleaning the pool floor, walls, and waterline, and the suction power is impressive. The app is easy to use, and setup only took a few minutes. The only downside is that the cord can sometimes get tangled, but overall it is worth the price. It cleans the bottom and walls well, but it does not float on the surface to pick up leaves. Large leaves and debris on top of the water still need to be removed manually or with a skimmer. If you mainly need something for surface leaves, this may not be the best choice.

This is awful. I purchased the corded chasing hydro 4 about 4 months ago. It worked ok, until the cheap plastic in the connector broke. Now it’s a really expensive paper weight. I’ve contacted the company multiple times and have received no response. Supposedly it has a good warranty, but if nobody gets back to you, it is worthless.

I just used this robot to clean out my pool for the upcoming summer, and honestly it surprised me. It’s pretty compact compared to some of the bigger cleaners out there, but it’s actually really powerful and gets the job done without any issues. What I like most is the filter basket size. It holds way more debris than I expected, so I can clean my small pool in one run without constantly stopping to empty it. Picks up dirt, leaves, and filters it out. It also climbs the walls better than I thought it would, and the app setup was straightforward. Just drop it in and let it work. Definitely made pool cleaning way less annoying this season.

We have had the Poolmate (now Chasing) robot since May 2025. So a over a year. Initially the robot worked well. However we have had to replace the rubber tread on the wheel (ebay). Lately the cord has deteriorated to the point I do not want to use it. Further the mobile app has completely stopped functioning since Chasing republished. I can't recommend a product that fails this rapidly.

It’s on the cheaper end so I expected some shortcomings. —The app connectivity gets 1 star. I never bother using it because it’s so inconsistent. —There is a design flaw where when you pull the robot out of the pool, it releases a bunch of debris back into the pool because the traps open up when the robot is sideways… which is the position it is in as you pull it out of the water. I don’t know how this wasn’t remedied at this point in the design. —another design flaw is that the cord gets tangled so easy. Pretty much after every use. So I have to disconnect the cord and unwind it every time I clean out the basket. It’s only been two months and it cleans well, just a few flaws that would have otherwise made this a 5 star product.

Initial findings - just unboxed and got it running... 1. Positive - fairly lightweight 2. Positive - nicely packaged with foam holding parts and plastic wrap holding coils. 3.Negative - the manual you download from the website and the QR code to download the program is in that download... for my phone I needed to send the link to someone else so I could scan it from their phone into mine. 4. Positive - the program was fairly easy to connect and use but I had to agree to AI and I am not seeing what benefit that may have been, maybe later? 5. Positive - clean basket, nice suction 6. Negative - it appears that to turn around it has to jog forward then backwards then forwards, etc a number of times... I think that all the treads and scrubbers are run by one motor and one of the rear foam pieces is larger so it rotates the unit to turn - maybe not a negative as one less motor to fail? 7. Positive - it cleans the wall well as it climbs and looks to do a nice job on them 8. Random Comments in no particular order - there appears to be no logic for a cleaning pattern but after a while it gets it clean - the cable does not have a swivel so you will need to untwist it every so often - there are lights on the front of the unit that can do some interesting patters - No clear way to register the device online (although they do provide a card where you can write the info that the app gives you for the model and serial number. If this thing lasts a while it may be worth the price... I will update as things happen. AN UPDATE - 6-12-26 Unit still works ok but if you have curved walls (all mine are) then the rigid scrubber bar (my last one was two parts and worked fine) wont clean the walls of Alge very well. Also - after its done cleaning it likes to sit on its backend with the light pointing up - and that light stays on while you have the unit plugged in. I do like the capacity of the basket, it hold more than the last two unit I have had and maintains good suction. I really like that for the price it has a temperature sensor that shows in the app. To change the cleaning from walls and floor to wall or tile or all and to set the time it runs you need to use the app and then in the upper left area on the app there is a label on what the cleaning mode is and you have to touch that to change it. you can also change what the light on the front shows (three modes). it would be nice if they had an off... I was able to connect with the unit remotely once but have not been able to do it again. for the money, so far so good! 6-12-26

Best pool vacuum ever. I had already purchased a cordless one, (another brand), but was not impressed due to it only cleaning for about an hour, maybe hour and a half. This vacuum is amazing. It can clean for 3 hours, or more if needed, and leaves pool super clean. I would definitely recommend. Well worth the money

This product is only a few months old. PROS: It actually does a decent job Price is fair CONS: Cable tangles up constantly Poor design (drops about 30% of it contents back in the pool as you get it out to clean) The connection from the unit to the cable gets loose, water come in and oxidation in the connectors prevents the unit to work properly) Customer service is inexistent: emails bounce back, phone number is disconnected, webpage crashes. CONCLUSION: One star because of poor design and and customer service.

Unfortunately the cable kept getting tangled in the brushes in a weird way! The brushes would have eventually been damaged from it.

Funciona bien pero se descompuso muy rapido uno de los motores, solo me duro 8 meses y no he pidido conseguir el repuesto.
