I bought two of those other big name "plastic" magnetic car phone holders with the really thin neck connecting the captive ball. Guess what,... they vibrate a lot under the weight of the phone and break there every time. I spend part of the year in the hot South West and that probably weakens the plastic, so never again.This all metal one should solve that problem once and for all. I was hesitant about the smallish dimensions as the round magnet is relatively small and the adhesive foot isn't that big either, but this unit holds a S9 with a Pelican case great, and with much less vibration, and its head doesn't work loose either. I'm very happy with it.The only issue I had was the metal foot is entirely flat with one straight bend, and my Japanese SUV doesn't have one flat spot on the entire dash! I solved that by placing the foot in my vice and giving it a slight bend. That is working well and the adhesive provided is holding just fine. Make sure you clean your dash well before installing the unit and wait 2 full days for the adhesive to thoroughly cure before attaching your phone and you will be golden.

I don't often write reviews, but I knew after installing it that I needed to leave a quick review. In a world full of over-advertised, falsely reviewed, wiggly plastic junk, this thing stands WAY out. I'm a minimalist who cares deeply about design and functionality, but I'm also cheap as hell.I'll get to the point: This thing is much smaller than it looks in the pictures. The aluminum body looks great and will be very strong. The ball socket is VERY tight, which is good. The phone doesn't sag or move from road vibrations, it stays exactly where you adjusted it to. For my particular application, the angle was just *slightly* off from what I needed, so i bent it a few degrees and it's now perfect. I never would have been able to do that if it were a plastic body. I highly recommend this mount.

This looks aesthetically fantastic. Small, functional form factor. It has solid articulation. The ONLY downfall is the provided double sided tape. Definitely get something stronger. I used the scotch 2 sided tape (Model # 414/DC) and it holds incredibly well. Certainly would recommend. I mounted a Samsung GS6 phone to be used as a dedicated boost gauge. Overall, I would certainly recommend.

I got mine just the other day and my first impression was a surprize at how strong the magnet is.This comes with 3M double sided tape pads to mount the holder frame to your desired mounting area and another to mount to the back of your phone. Real handy with no clips or clamps to worry about especially if driving and only having one hand free to mount or unmount your phone.Very simple yet effective idea.

While it adeptly held my phone, the real issue arose with its attachment to the car vents. Over time, the clips began to loosen, leading to a few alarming moments of my phone taking unexpected dives.The design and concept seem promising, especially in terms of securely holding the phone. However, the mechanism for attaching to the vents needs refinement. This could very well vary with different car models, but for my experience, it lacked the desired stability. I actually drilled a hole in the base and screwed it onto my console (I removed the console to apply a cap nut). Magnet is strong. You can bend the metal to a different angle if necessary, but it takes significantly more force to do so than the force applied every time I slap my phone on it.Also purchased a different brand adhere-mounting that one behind my steering wheel for navigation, but I primarily use this one. Great product and recommended.

I love this small and tiny holder. The quality of the holder is superb as it is made of solid metal. This is no vibration none whatsoever. I wish I could install this on my lexus gx though. That car has a curved dashboard and this base does requires a flat surface for it to work. I position this holder in such a way the edge of my phone sits on the dash ro give it more support. I have a iphone 7 plus which is rather heavy for most mounts to handle. I went through 5 holders before I stumble on this. I am not sure why it is not listed as Amazon’s choice. The only wish I have is that the base can stick on a slight curved dashboard so I can Get it for my lexus.
