These work perfectly to position the hose more vertically over the vacuum head which allows the vacuum head to stay on the floor of the pool. Our Hayward vacuum works even better now. Would recommend replacing every 5 years or so. These new floats are more buoyant than the old ones.

My pool cleaner leader hose broke. Being a new pool owner I threw away the broken hose with floats. Big mistake. These worked perfectly as a replacement but cost more than the hose. Stupid mistake.

These white hose floats arrived on time no problem. They are a great idea, but two small improvements would make them better. One, they have very little give, and were very tight to get over hoses that made me concerned I might damage a hose trying to force them on. Second, they are not very buoyant. I assumed two of these on the same hose would fully draw it to the surface, but they seem to barely be more buoyant than necessary. They seem durable and strong, so I'm optimistic they will function though.

Two stars for possibly originating the design. I bought a generic 4-pack for less than the cost of a branded 2-pack. The generics fit so tightly around the hose and even with all 4 installed they just managed to float the leaf canister, I thought I’d upgrade to name brand. Haywards arrived and to my surprise, they made the same hose-crushing fit AND are LESS buoyant. But then I’d only have 2, for more money. Where’s the value? The performance? On the scale, these came in at 48g and 46g (compared to the generics that came in at 43g). I didn’t bother weighing the other three because the case was sufficiently made. Now, to return these inferior, overpriced, name-brand floats I have to pay for return shipping. To Hayward’s credit I am VERY happy with their pool vac. But this floats experience has been very frustrating.

A little trick to install because they don't flex much, but they do the job to keep the sweep hose floating better.
