Coleman 4/6/8/10 Person Instant Camping Tent with 1-Minute Setup, Large Family Tent with Pre-Attached Poles, Air Vent, & Carry Bag, Sets Up in About 60 Seconds

First, I would like to commend Coleman as a company for their excellent customer service and post product support. Prior to a camping trip, we purchased the eight person instant camping tent. We opened it and set it up as a test in our home yard to make sure all the equipment that came with. It was there and to make sure that we knew how to set it up. The set up is incredibly easy. It is a large tent and has some considerable heft so smaller people might need a buddy to help them. Move it around. Getting it back into his carrying bag can be a challenge. Unfortunately, when we got to our camping location and set up the tent in our first night while sleeping, we awoke to a metallic pain sound and one corner of the tent started drooping. Upon investigation, one of the metal tabs that locks into place on the roof structure. There was no significant weather, events or anything that we could think of that would cause the metal to pop and rip off. Using a ratchet strap, I was able to MacGyver the tent to stay in place for the remainder of our camping trip and then contacted Coleman. After sending them some photos of the situation, they immediately sent a replacement tent. If I were to do it all over again, we probably would not purchase this tint again, but I absolutely would purchase a different Coleman tent. The company support is incredible and for that I give them five stars. I give the product 3.5 stars.

Took this to burning man this year, and it survived the storms and rain. Setup takes literally 1 minute (or less), which in my opinion is absolutely critical in some situations. Packing this thing into the bag is where you need to develop your own technique. But after doing this a few times, I can now take down and pack this tent in around 2~3 minutes (without expanding the bag! which you could totally do, but I decided to keep it tight). As per the usual with most tents, it says it can fit 6 people, and while it might be technically feasible, if you are all about the comfort then this will actually sleep 2 people comfortably (twin mattress + space for your items, which is what I did). This does NOT come with the rainfly which you need to purchase separately (and I'm really glad I bought it!). It is also not an insulated tent, so bring a warm sleeping bag with you if you plan to camp in the cold. Finally, this is NOT a blackout tent, and if you're sensitive to light then I have two things to tell you: 1. Bring an eye mask with you because this will allow quite a lot of light in (the material is thin). 2. The rain fly will darken things a bit, but still not dark enough for light sensitive people. Thankfully I can sleep even in direct sunlight so I did not have an issue with that, but I know people who can't so if this is you, get a blackout tent instead.

This tent suffers from a severe quality control and structural reliability problem. Right out of the box, two of the plastic load-bearing connectors at the bottom corners were already broken. These components are essential to the structural integrity of the tent. Without them, the frame cannot be properly assembled, and the tent is physically unable to stand. In practical terms, this product is completely unusable. This is not a cosmetic defect — it is a fundamental structural failure. For a tent positioned in this price and performance category, this level of manufacturing quality is unacceptable. A failure at a critical stress point indicates either poor material selection, flawed structural design, or inadequate quality inspection. Any of these is deeply concerning. As someone with real outdoor usage requirements, I depend on equipment reliability. Receiving a tent that cannot even be assembled directly disrupted my trip plans and caused significant inconvenience. I am attaching photos to clearly document the defect. Potential buyers should be fully aware of this risk before purchasing. I strongly recommend that the manufacturer conduct serious improvements in structural design, material strength, and quality control.

these tents are easy to assemble and dissemble and has many zip up windows the only thing i believe is wrong is that the 4 people tent holds two people maybe 4 if you wanna lay down like sardines and the 6 people tent may hold 4 people comfortably or 6 like sardines. set up is easy and easy instructions to follow

Definitely love it

This pops up so quickly and easily! Less than a minute and you can do it by yourself. We bought the 6-person tent. Down one star because to fit 6 people you would have to be sleeping on the ground side-by-side. There would be no room for your bags let alone air mattress. We fit a queen size air mattress and a twin size air mattress and had room for bags. Also, it didn't come with a top cover so we had to put our EZ-Up over the tent when it rained. But overall, great tent for the price.

Happy with this roomy tent. We had two cots and a dog sleeping with us with plenty of extra room.

you purchase two tents at the same time! My son purchased this tent and the first time he used it, one of the connectors broke. As they were planning on going on more camping trips, he had no time to deal with the warranty so he went ahead and bought another tent and got rid of the broken tent. They liked the features of the tent. We needed to borrow the tent and when we took down the tent, one of the connectors broke, just as happened previously! We spent hours trying to find matching connector pieces, including calling Coleman to no avail. So we helped our son fill out the warranty information but Coleman never responded. Calling them is worthless. As we borrowed the tent, we replaced it with the same model but this time, we will be removing the connectors from the broken tent so when one breaks the next time, we will have replacements for the new tent. The connectors are easily able to be removed. So ridiculous that Coleman doesn't have the connectors readily available when the product is so easily broken! In addition, it rained and the tent leaked and sleeping bags and clothes got wet! Coleman used to be a great company but no more! My advice would be to not purchase this model because you cannot find replacement parts when they break and is worthless in the rain. Expensive tent with nice features, cheap material.

Very nice tent, I would buy it again.It just arrived damaged in transit. Now I'm waiting for a resolution to the case.
