Genki 1: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese 1

This is a fantastic book. What I found great about it is that you have to learn hiragana before you can really get stuck in which is brilliant because then you get one of the most difficult things out of the way, which makes the lessons a lot easier. When you've learnt the entire book it's the equivalent of GCSE. This book was recommended to be by my Japanese teacher and I have learnt so much from it.

Good book when needing to start from scratch, explains things well and seems simple enough to follow.Wouldn't really notice it was used other than the few notes here and there but that doesn't really matter.

Great textbook, bit high in learning level so recommended to an intermediate learner.

I'm a quarter of the way through this book. It is geared towards schools/college education but it is good and with regular practice everyday it's starting to fall in place. It is well worth it!!!

Love it! It was affordable, in good condition as promised and with a good balance of pictures and explanations with vocab lists and activities to do.

I have used the "Adventures in Japanese" series books before, but I realized when I received this product that I like the "Genki" series better. The illustrations are enjoyable and the way the book is divided is logical. I'd highly recommend this product (with the workbook and audio CD) to anyone who wants to learn Japanese.

The CDs would be more helpful if they provided more explanation and if they listed the Japanese word in hirigana and English.Text is good.
