I love my new Berkey! This is just right for use while traveling. I have a sensitive stomach, so I don't drink tap water... not anywhere! The British Berkefeld Gravity Water Filter System is compact and easily packable, so I know I have truly clean water wherever I go.

This works very well just like my larger British berkfield but I would highly recommend getting the 6l if you have the room. I got this for my daughter's room but it was very expensive for what it is. When someone is drinking 2-3 litres a day and this takes 2hrs to filter a litre this is a little impractical, and I doregret the purchase. She has already had it knocked over by her cats. The water quality is, however, just as good as the larger filters- as it should as it uses the same filter .m

I bought the 1 litre version as I am a single person household, I do not need or have space for a 6/8/12 litre, even after fully ‘priming the filter’ and using it for the last three days, it is taking almost TWO HOURS to filter a litre of water. So I have to wait 30. minutes to get a coffee mug (330 mls) of filtered water. I contacted Doulton who said. the MAXIMUM filtration rate for the 1 litre is an hour. But to achieve that maximum rate the filer needs to be kept covered with water. So… you need to keep topping up the top chamber with water… and then…. there’s too much water going into the bottom chamber and it will overflow.. so.. you have to babysit it to keep topping it up whilst emptying any water that has filtered through. A LOT OF PALAVER for a small amount of water when you need it, and therefore it is going to be returned to Amazon.

Great buy ,works well takes away smell and bad taste ,really happy with this filter system ,the filters are said to last up to six months and can be cleaned on the outside with a nail brush .Always wear rubber food quality gloves to handle filters ,so you don't pass anything from food or dirt onto filter,or wash your hands well . The taste is great and the water stays cool and drinkable for around 24hrs . It's said these are good for bug outs and camping trips. Hope this helps ,well worth the price and its a British firm ,so thumbs up all the way.
