I had trouble getting a replacement from Thunder Bay. They couldn't even tell me what thread the Fishtail needed to me to fit the shaft.I went to a hardware store to get a bolt. and couldn't get one... ended up plugging the hole for temporary u use. Well... I found this Earthquake 8958HD Replacement Fishtail Point listed and gave it a shot!...I cleaned and blew out the augger shaft hole... gave it a light greasing... This tip screwed right in like silk!Cuts straight... Very Rugged... encountered some concrete and no apparent damage! Highly recommend it!

Exactly as pictured with smooth threads. Definitely use the never sieze so you can replace your fish tails when you need to. Pleased with the replacement head.

The Earquake auger post hole digger is a very good tool.The “fish tail point” to me is the most important part of the operation to post hole digging. IThe original fish tail point wore out. The auger itself seemed to be not doing the job (after about 50 holes).Once replaced I thought I had a new auger. Keep the attachment implements replaced and you auger will perform like new.

I install fencing and use this product all the time to dig post holes.

Great replacement point for the earth auger. Made a big difference in how the auger handled and drilled into the ground. I attempted to sharpen the original, which did not do much good, but a new point made the difference. I used a bit of never-seize on the threads to make sure I could remove and replace at a later date.

I have an 8", 12" and 14" Earthquake augers and this same fishtail works on them all. Took a bit to get the original, worn out unit off, but I added some never seize to the thread so that doesn't happen again.
