The media could not be loaded. So far so good. The drive is recognized by my phone and the transfer speeds are pretty good. It’s a decent size not being overly large and also not being too small and helps me grip my phone better. As far as the few complaints I’ve seen about the strength of the magnet, I had a hard time prying the thing away from my phone because of how strong the magnets are. I did not use the additional ring that came with the drive because I don’t need to. I own an iPhone 16 pro max and have a MagSafe compatible case because, well, who wouldn’t? It’s a great addition to my already 1TB capacity. I will probably pick up another one with a larger capacity, I just wanted to test it out first to make sure it was a solid device before I spent the money on the 2TB drive. All around, solid buy. Well worth the money, STRONG magnets, fast transfer, perfect size… very happy with my purchase.

After purchasing a cheap SSD from AliExpress for my Blackmagic 6K, I decided to upgrade to the ORICO 512GB Magnetic Portable SSD, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. Both SSDs perform adequately, but the ORICO stands out for several reasons.First, the write speeds on the ORICO SSD are significantly faster, which is crucial when working with 4K 120 fps ProRes HDR footage. It handles the large file sizes effortlessly, ensuring smooth recording without dropped frames or lag. This speed boost has made my workflow much more efficient, especially during intensive shooting sessions.Secondly, the build quality is a noticeable step up. The metal body of the ORICO SSD feels robust and durable, offering a premium touch that instills confidence in its longevity. It’s a far cry from the plastic casing of the cheaper alternative, which didn’t feel as sturdy or reliable.

This drive is fast and the magnet secures the drive securely with my iPhone. If the drive’s magnet could work through my iPhone case I would’ve kept the drive. This is a very nice item for people looking to transfer from iPhone to laptop and/or recording ProRes video.

So mine came with the outer shell reversed, kind of tough to use when the USB is hard plastic. So I went to town, found each side has two inner clips, had to pry so it has some scratches, got it off, flipped it, replaced. Not that tough, and let's be honest, well me anyways, I would have scratched it the first day, and will probably add more. Now, what it's made for, it rocks, really fast transfer speed, I dropped two movies over no issues, then a big folder of FLACs still no issues. I can see use for the cable that comes with, depending on what you're doing, but for me I grabbed a cable with right angles on both ends. Now don't get me wrong, their cable rocks, it's solid and thick, it's going to last. The magnet to phone or case is strong enough, but not too strong, yes that's a thing if you ask me, I don't like too strong cause it hoses up my leather case. 😉 Overall this thing seems pretty good for usage, we will have to see how it lasts for writes? Because the case was flipped I couldn't say five stars, but unless the memory fails, I'd get it again, even with the scratches. 👍

Don't buy it if you have an Android - it doesn't work! My phone can see it when I go into storage but there is no way to do anything else with it. It also comes with no instructions, there are none online and the manufacturer doesn't seem to respond to support requests.

THIS IS AMAZING. I’m always hauling around and external hard drive for iPad and MacBook and hope I don’t drop it. This is magnetic and fastens, securely to the back of anything. The iPhone has a magnetic ring, the iPad does not, but the included magnetic stick on ring worked perfectly and holds very securely.

Affordable SSD that can enable using Apple Pro log on iPhone. Love that it’s magnetic so it’s easy to take along without causing too much inconvenience. Purchased mostly for video, but also frees up some memory on my phone. Literally just plug and play.
