Capsaicin patches
These work great! No difference between this brand and the S...pas brand or the C_S drug store brand, but much cheaper than either of those. Highly recommended. If you have never used capsaicin pain products before, you should be aware that it can cause discomfort at first. Also, these patches are made with natural rubber. I have a slight allergy to latex, but these patches do not bother me. If you have severe reactions to natural latex, do not buy these.

They work
I don't like mint, so I don't prefer products with menthol in them; I don't like peppers, so I am not the biggest fan of products with capsaicin in them. I understand the science behind how these work, and they are effective at making back soreness & pain lessen. I don't care for the itchy tingling sensation personally. They do last a long time (because of the oils), and they don't recommend taking a shower within an hour of removal because the pepper oil can migrate to ... uncomfortable places. I do like how many patches come in this pack for an ok price point. Semi-easy to use, although they are really thin and have the tendency to stick to itself, so you have to be very careful and do slow movements. Pretty good size. Ok product, they work but they are just not for me.

Edges roll up too easily. Difficult to pull the protective film off the pad without self-adhering to itself.

Did Not Work. Tried Several Times.
These patches did not work at all for me or my elderly father who lives with me. They were tried on two different people on two different parts of the body. We have used a lot of different kinds of patches, but we have never encountered ones like this that do not seem to work at all. The backing is flimsy, and the patch itself is such a low quality material that it easily wrinkles or comes off even with minimal movement. The patch heats up on slightly, just enough to realize that it is not cold against your skin. I have attached a photo of the irritation on my elderly father’s skin from wearing the patch for 2 hours. They do not expire until 5/2027 so it is not a matter of them being old. There was no pain relief whatsoever.

Helpful Heat Patches
I tend to experience lower back pain/discomfort and although it usually resolves itself with rest, sometimes resting isn’t an option and I need to keep on moving and have to find some comfort to get me through. I normally use a different brand of patches that alternate between ice and heat, but I thought I’d give these a try the last time I experienced back discomfort. It took a little bit to actually start feeling the heat from this and even then, the heat was subtle, but I did feel a different kind of prickly sensation where the patch was. I assume that was the capsaicin tingling my skin? I left the patch on overnight. I didn’t notice it while I slept, unless I laid flat on my back, at which point I would again feel the prickly feeling. I took it off when I got up in the morning and went to take my daily shower and when the hit water hit my back, again the prickly feeling hit that spot. I then remembered that the directions had said not to use an hour before or after showering, so I immediately stopped running the hot water on my back. I’m not sure what the issue is, but I did not have any noticeable effects on my skin after all this. I do think the patch helped overall, but not as well as the type I normally use. I will keep these on hand to try again.
