The Norpro Silicone Basting Brush has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. I already used it to baste my BBQ chicken, my butter rolls, and and my salmon with a lemon ginger sauce after catching a pound of salmon from a fishing trip in Alaska. Each time the brush was great in terms of easy handling and cleaning. The best part to me was how the silicone material absorbed the sauces and butter in a way that caused most of the marinade to be spread and distributed onto the food and not stuck in the bristles and therefore wasted. Without fine bristles the glaze smoothly and evenly covered my chicken and salmon and the butter nicely spread over my rolls. The brush also went through the washing machine without a problem and it looks great in terms of aesthetic. I feel that it nicely compliments my other kitchenware and looks modern and sleek. I have zero complaints and don't see myself buying any other basting brushes besides this one in the future. Fortunately, because it appears to be very sturdy and durable from my eperience thus far, that purchase will likely not be for quite a while.

I love this basting brush. I really bought it for cake baking. I needed to wet each layer with a simple syrup and didn't want to simply just pour the syrup on. I wanted something a little more gentle to wet each layer. This brush worked great. It's a little hard for me to understand how this can hold liquid and baste so nicely but it does, its wonderful. I also use this to put on barbecue sauce while grilling and my favorite use is for egg washes for pastry. I make cream puffs and breads often that require a wash and this brush is extremely gentle. It looks like it might damage a delicate pastry but nope, its perfect.

I purchased this exactly 2 years ago so this review should provide some merit from using it for 2 years.Needed to replace an old basting brush and randomly purchased this not knowing what results I would get. I like this basting brush much better than the bristle brushes because this is much easier to clean up no bristles falling into the cooked meat and I also prefer this because the sauce or marinade transfers easily from brush to meat. The sauce doesn't accumulate at the base of the bristles where the bristles meet the base. I used to paint and am very well accustomed to cleaning bristle brushes and this thing is a piece of cake to clean up. Time will tell how long this will last. I don't put this in the dishwasher so I can prolong the life of this basting brush.

I used to use the pastry brush that looks like a small paint brush. What a mess when the brush began coming apart while applying warm butter! I bought this silicone brush that not only works well on barbecue sauce but it works on pastry too! Easy to clean, I put it in the dishwasher and have never had an issue. It doesn’t lose its shape or melt.

Norpro 2018C Silicone Basting Brush, Blue With Thanksgiving around the corner, I needed a new basting brush to replace a much smaller one that barely moved any sauce around. I knew that Norpro was my go to brand, I have a few other silicone cookware and this brush is a great addition to my kitchen. I love the color, it fits perfectly in my hand: not too heavy, not too light. The handle also says it is heat-resistant up to 500° F, which is great for people, like me, who sometimes leave cooking utensils on the stove. That makes it great for grilling, spreading bbq sauce on some sausages and chicken with ease. No worries about leaving behind any bristles like with a natural basting brush. Not to mention an easy clean up so I can use it for my main course and again for dessert.

Thank you providing this item. I have moved and could not find all my utensils. This item is fabulous for easy basting and spreading. I have used the wooden handled brush with the hair like bristles and just felt I could never get it clean enough. The bristles on this brush make it easy to see it is clean and the design holds bristles well and for a long time. The brush holds and spreads onto the food easy and the handle makes it easy to use. I have used other silicone brushes where the spread or marinade seemed to just slide off the bristle but this one is great.

It's not as good as the bristle brushes at spreading melted butter onto stuff, so there's that. It's fairly good at it, though, it just takes a touch more time. The advantage is that you'll never end up with bristles on your stuff. This seems really sturdy and well-made. I can't imagine what it would take for it to come apart, but it would have to be quite a bit. Not a life-changer or anything, and can be a little annoying to have to go back more than I feel strictly necessary to get butter spread on things, but it was fairly cheap, looks like it will stay together, and I'll never have to deal with fishing a bristle off of the top of bread dough again.

Perfect size for me and what I'm using it for (egg basting bread, icing cookies, etc.) Nice and pliable "bristles," it spreads covering evenly.

Very good brush. Does not retain any odors and does not discolor.
