After a few weeks of use, my experience is that I would highly recommend it. The sound quality, range and volume are great especially for the price. It took a little while to get it paired to my earbuds as the directions were not clear enough. The best way to pair with the earbuds is to watch for searching when you turn on the device and then open your earbuds case for pairing. Once the Bluetooth device recognizes your earbuds push the big knob on the right and this will lock in your earbuds pairing. When you go to use your Bluetooth device in the future just turn it on and while the screen shows connecting open your earbuds case and remove an earbud. I have no problems after I got the hang of it. The only problem I have is when I used the TV USB connector for power, the Vizio smart TV I have would turn the device back on after I had it turned it off. My TV LED would light back up about a minute after the TV was turned off and it would turn the device back on. I would have to watch for this and turn it back off. I decided to plug the Bluetooth device into a 5W transformer block and connect it to a power strip which stopped it from coming back on. The TV senses the connection and turns the power on and the device doesn’t know to stay off. The only other thing to mention is that if you use only one earbud you have to use the Bluetooth device knob to turn up or down the volume. When you use both earbuds you can control the volume with the earbud sensors.

At $25 this thing is worth it. It will send or receive bluetooth audio. If you are sending, it will pair with two sets of headphones at once, which is nice. I am using this device to adapt a very nice stereo receiver to connect my bluetooth headphones. I would give this bluetooth tx/rx five stars except that it is unreliable when pairing. I paired it once and that was fine. Now, subsequently, EVERY time I turn on my stereo and my headphones, sometimes it will pair, but I won't get any audio in the headphones. Sometimes (a minority of the times) I turn it on and it pairs and I can hear audio right away. I think that in 2026 we should be a little better than this. The Soomfon bluetooth tx/rx has a nice little display panel. It displays the mode it is in (either TX or RX - which is Transmit to your headphones or speakers, OR Receive audio via bluetooth. I didn't know that until I got this. ) It tells you in TX mode which is the source of input you send to your headphones. There is a lighted large blue knob on front which when you turn it will turn up the volume from 0 to 16. If you push on the volume knob it will search and connect again (which is what I have to do when it doesn't fully work - it connects and shows the name of the headphones in the display but I cannot hear anything. This is an annoyance but if you can accept an extra button push to get it to connect again, it will then work very well.) The capability to send a strong signal further than my other bluetooth gadgets is nice. This claims to broadcast from 10m to 30m, which is around thirty-some feet up to almost 100 feet - which is great for bluetooth. If you're indoors and you are going from one room to another, then your mileage may vary but this thing does broadcast a nice strong signal! One thing to keep in mind: this bluetooth adapter has to be plugged into a charger - it will not work on battery only. I have another bluetooth TX gadget I use with my iPod Classic to play music while I'm working outdoors which has a decent battery life0 no projecting antennae. This Soomfon bluetooth TX/RX adapter is for plugged in stationary use. All that said, I totally recommend it for uses similar to mine. I would buy it again.

Purchased this device to transmit audio from a Bluetoothless Samsung TV with only an optical audio out port. I was able to get the device to see & connect to my bluetooth devices (speaker, earbuds), however no audio would transmit to the bluetooth devices. I wrote to Soomfon explaining what I was trying to do & why, along with photos showing that the settings were all aligned with the instructions sent with the device. To be clear the product headline includes the words "Bluetooth 5.3 Transmitter...Optical," & it arrived with an optical audio cable & ports, so the device is meant to be able to do what I need it to do. They replied suggesting that (a) I try hooking up the optical audio to my computer (I have used computers since before there was a Mac & have never seen one w/ an optical audio port & regardless that would not address the issue. I was very clear: I need their device to connect to a TV. The other recommendation in their reply was to (b) use the AUX port, even though in my request for help I wrote, "This TV has only an optical audio out port, no other audio out ports." I replied restating the issue & explaining why their recommendations are not relevant to my situation. This time I did not hear back. I waited a week, replied again seeking help, still no reply. To recap: device did not do what it is designed to do. Customer service replied once with multiple suggestions that were not relevant to my issue. After a follow-up request for help was ignored, I boxed the device back up & returned it for a refund.

WORKS GREAT. My TV is a Sony 46 in. from 2010 and doesn't have very good volume level control and has RCA jacks out and a optical out connection . I live in a apartment complex and as to not disturb the neighbors I constantly have to turn up and down the TV volume between movie and commercials. I used the optical out cable supplied (be sure to pull off the protective silicone tip on the end of the connector before plugging in) and Took about 2 mins. to hook up and the Soomfon Bluetooth picked up my ML80 head phones and my Bose sport ear buds right away with NO lag at all in the voice. Now with head phones or my ear buds I can listen to movies or regular TV full effects Gun fire and explosions with out disturbing the neighbors or any one else. Don't forget you need a USB charger that can charge USB-A to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C just like for your cell phone for power supply to the Bluetooth unit.

I bought this unit because it has optical audio in it. No problem pairing the headphone and the sound quality is very good. When turning the headset back on it pairs back on. Good unit.

I’ve been using the SOOMFON Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver for about 5 months now, and unfortunately, it hasn’t been smooth sailing. The biggest issue is reliability—when I turn it on, it doesn’t always work right away. It often connects to my Bluetooth headphones, but there’s no audio. That means I end up turning it off and on several times, wasting 15–20 minutes before workouts just trying to get sound. Another limitation is that it only supports stereo signals. Some TV apps default to 5.1 audio, which means I’ll only hear sound in one side of my headphones unless I go into the app settings and switch everything to stereo. Then when it’s movie night and I want my sound system back, I have to change it all over again. It gets annoying fast. And I’ve tried it with aux cable and optical cable and the experience is the same. When it does work properly, the sound quality is decent, and it gets the job done. But because it’s hit or miss, I can’t always rely on it. If you don’t mind extra fiddling, it might be okay, but for me it’s been frustrating sometimes. So I’ll leave it up to your judgement.

Overall, it works great. Directions for hookup are not so great. Use this on my TV with a Bluetooth headset. So I can hear the TV better. No issues with distance or cutting out. Using the optical hookup, have to make sure you plug into the one next to the headphone jack that says input. Optical ports are not labeled.

Perfect synchronization, easy setup, and flawless performance! I am absolutely thrilled with this SO compact OMFON Bluetooth transmitter! I originally bought it for my TV because it didn't have built-in Bluetooth capability. This little device completely saved me from having to buy a brand new TV costing hundreds of pounds! The experience with it has been flawless. It was super easy to set up right out of the box and connected perfectly to my Sony headphones. The absolute best part is that there is zero audio lag, which means the lip-sync and audio synchronization with the TV are perfectly spot-on. I also love the fact that I can seamlessly control the volume directly up or down using my headphones themselves—a huge bonus convenience! It’s incredibly versatile too. It effortlessly paired and connected with my Pixel Buds without a single issue. This device is an amazing find—super well-made, sturdy, and packs incredibly premium performance at such a good price point. Lo primero decir que estuve a punto de devolverlo porque es muy "remolón" en la configuración. Le cuesta enlazar los dispositivos y tienes que repetir la maniobra hasta la desesperación. Para ponernos en antecedentes debo decir que en mi caso se trataba de conectar una tarjeta de sonido externa Asus Xonar U5 con un amplificador Technics (impecable, de los de antes, made in Japan, año 95) a través de un receptor de audio Logitech modo RX conectado al amplificador vía ecualizador independiente (también Technics), a una distancia de 9 metros sin ningún obstáculo entre ellos (TX y RX). Tengo muchísima música clásica en formato FLAC, almacenada en discos externos y la reproduzco vía PC, logrando unas calidades, para mí, muy buenas, fabulosas, casi inmejorables. Llevo bastante tiempo con este sistema de reproducción y el motivo de comprar este dispositivo SOOMFON era para sustituir al transmisor TX que ya tenía, y que estaba un poco obsoleto y pidiendo su jubilación, y de camino adquirir una mejor tecnología bluetooth, como la 5.3 que ofrece este dispositivo. A la par pretendía también conectar unos cascos inalámbricos Soundcore Space One Pro de reciente adquisición. Retomando con el inicio, continuo diciendo que así como conectar la tarjeta Asus no fue del todo difícil, emparejar los cascos me costó una barbaridad, a nivel de desesperación, no obstante, después de saturar el "ensayo y error" descubrí la mecánica para "conciliar" los dos dispositivos de manera fácil y sin atropellos y puedo afirmar que me satisface plenamente habiendo conseguido mejorar aún más la audición de mis archivos flac. En este momento utilizo un cable óptico que devuelve una señal "hipernítida" y que ya tenía, en lugar del que viene con el dispositivo, que no debe estar mal; antes utilizaba un buen cable de audio de Syncwire. Ahora me coloco mis cascos o me planto delante de mi sistema cuadrafónico de altavoces JBL (también de los de antes), cierro los ojos y me traslado al Royal Opera House en Covent Garden. ;·) Lo compré por 25 € aprovechando una promoción. Mi recomendación final es comprarlo, y si es "usado/muy bueno" mejor aún, porque la mayoría de la procedencia de estos es de compradores que han sucumbido ante la imposibilidad de configurarlo y lo han devuelto, sin mácula. Lo compras, te enfrentas, lo consigues y pasas a disfrutarlo, porque afortunadamente, gracias a Prime, siempre tienes la posibilidad de devolverlo y recuperar el precio abonado en su compra. Espero que el dispositivo no falle pasado un tiempo, y tener que arrepentirme de mi comentario positivo, teniendo que volver a editar para desdecirme de mis palabras, así como también espero haber ayudado a alguien que quiera probar este sistema para la buena audición de música y no solo la típica conexión a televisor. Je l'utilise depuis deux mois et ce petit gadget est vraiment génial. Il permet de donner le Bluetooth aux TV qui ne le possède pas à la base utilisation et connection vraiment très facile
