This coffee bean grinder is very well made and sturdy. It’s more a toy or model than something useful. It’s very hard to clean, and it’s so small it takes forever to grind enough beans to make a cup of coffee. It’s also heavy, which would limit its usefulness when camping.

One of our son's is a barista (aka a true coffee snob LOL!) and he spent a LOT more for a hand grinder than this one costs, and even HE was impressed with the quality and features of this fantastic little grinder! It is compact enough for traveling, but durable enough for everyday use. It features a LOT of grind settings to achieve the perfect brew. It is extremely well made from very high quality materials.

I know that this is a coffee grinder, but I thought I would try grinding up some Chia seeds to see how it works. It is unbelievable how fine I can grind up those Chia seeds. Although, I have to admit, it does take a long time. It works very smoothly, so I think, if you’re grinding up coffee beans, it will work really well. It’s nice that it has the little catch cup in the bottom so you don’t make a great big mess everywhere. It doesn’t have a lot of room in the top, but for just one cup of coffee, it should work just fine. This would be great on a camping trip because this is nice and small and compact and will pack away very easily.

I like the solid aluminum construction of this grinder. It was easy to set the appropriate grind size using the outside ring. The grinding action was smooth and quiet. The grinder fits about 20g of beans and I was able to grind that in 57 seconds without any binding or difficulty. The grind size was very consistent and the recommended "90 grids" was a great size for pour over coffee. I prefer to grind larger batches for a carafe of pour over, so this won't be a daily use product for me, but it will be great for on-the-go or if I'm only grinding a single dose.

In all honesty, I forgot what I had ordered when the coffee grinder arrived. I was surpassed at the weight. I assumed this was going to be lightweight but it's the opposite. For its rather small size, this is a lot heavier than it looks. That isn't a bad thing as this feels purposeful in its build. It feels solid when actually turning the handle and grinding coffee beans. Nothing feels like it's going to pop off and break. The downside is that it does get heavy and tiresome during/after grinding. But it's worth it for the quality coffee in the end. I also like the aesthetics of the grinder. I don't need to hide it away in the cupboard but can leave it or to admire. Also, in case anyone was wondering, I'm using this to grind beans to use with a French press. Works wonderfully! Highly recommend this grinder!

This is a small manual coffee grinder but it doesn’t need to be too big to produce the powder you need for an espresso machine. The look and feel and usage of this is excellent and its a great alternative to our electric grinder for those mornings when we’re trying not to wake the baby.
