Great for those rare cold snaps in Florida
Sure .. it's odd for someone from Florida to mention cold snap, but it does happen and to have a spare jacket for visitors is something I just bought this year to replace an older one.Washed up nicely in my home washer and I just put on hanger to dry.Comfortable, warm but lightweight.Like it for style and ease of cleaning!

A wonderful parka!
I bought a size up because I like to wear bulky layers in my parka. So far I have not wore any bulky sweaters yet. I got it just in time for the bitter cold weather. It has been -8 F and with the wind chill which makes it much colder, the parka kept me nice a toasty! The size is right on and the size up for me gives me plenty of room to wear heavy clothing and not feel bound up in the arms. The length comes right below the calves. The outer shell does become a little crinkly when it's that cold! LOL! But when ice is forming on your hair at the same time, I guess the parka should make a crinkle sound!

Beautiful coat but not as warm as my previous style
Overall I do really like this coat. The length is perfect( little below kneecaps). Nice oversized hood with excellent drawstings to tighten and keep out weather. Drawstrings have an added toggle so you can tighten and adjust by squeezing and will stay wherever you adjust too. No need to tie or have to constantly monkey with them. Very nice added touch I havent seen on winter coats. The hood itself is on the larger size which I prefer but not as large as a previous style I have from this brand so it doesn't block vision as the other does. The color is gorgeous, a pretty shade of teal/turquoise and is a bit more vivid in person. It has side slits that button and can be undone to make sitting easier. Sleeves are cuffed at ends. Coat also has buttons around neck area to keep out wind and tighten at base of hood. Has a "double" closure in that it zips up but also has a flap that folds over the zipper and buttons (snap buttons). My only complaint...it is very lightweight and "thin" overall. Literally feels like no weight at all when holding it. It has seemed to keep me warm the times I have worn it but I also havent worn it in extreme cold as yet. (30 or below) I have a similar coat from this brand that I wear in extrem cold and the zipper busted on it so I bought this as a replacement. Wished I would've ordered that same one for it is the warmest coat I've ever owned. They look very similar except the prior one has zippers on the sides, a fur collar on its hood, and a few extra small hiddenish pockets on arms and chest. When this new one arrived, I noticed the difference in weight immediately. Other style is way heavier and even with a broken zipper I still wear it because it too also buttons.( not snap style) I do a lot of walking in all weather and both styles of coats I've purchased from this brand have been seemingly well made and thought out. This is a company I will continue to support because of that and can easily recommend them. I live in the southeastern part of Ohio where it can get pretty darn cold so having a coat that does it's job at keeping me warm is a must. Update: finally wore this coat in temps at around 30 with higher wind chills and here is what I noticed. Hood does adequate job of keeping wetness out from rain but being not as oversized has drawbacks and doesn't as effectively keep out wind as prior style. Faux fur on prior style also does better job at keeping wind out and face warm. One thing I do like is this version has a sort of collar blended in with hood which when fully zipped, hood strings tightened, leaves a space to cover not only neck area but chin and even your nose if needed. Surprisingly as lightweight as it is, it still kept me pretty toasty warm. I really had my doubts on this since prior style is so much heavier in weight. Have to give credit for it honestly feels like your not wearing a coat at all yet it did its job well. Now I can fully recommend.

It's ok
*edited to say that at just under 3 months of use one of the side zippers completely busted, out, so that was an expensive lesson in reading and listening to other reviews. Changing my rating from 4 stars to 1.:(It's ok. Not as toasty warm as indicated in other reviews, but warm enough. I'll just have to wear more layers than I thought. The shoulders and sleeves are narrow, while the body is roomy and flares out somewhat as it goes down, like a slim a-line. Not the most flattering silhouette, and breezes get up and under more easily than expected, but whatever. I don't think I'll ever need to open the side zippers at the bottom as it's plenty wide down there for walking and sitting. The "pink haze" is not remotely pink, it's actually a silvery grey/light purple, not even a hint of a pink tint, so be aware. I thought they sent me a different one by mistake until I saw "pink haze" on the tag. It's pretty-ish I guess, but not what I was looking for. Not a fan of the ugly red makers tag on the sleeve, either, so I'm going to try and remove that if I can. I did immediately remove the fake fur trim on the hood as:1. It's brown and tan (why not black with the rest of the black trim?)2. It falls way down over my eyes and I can't see.The fur was very easy to remove because it zips on and off, and luckily the zipper doesn't stand out too much around the edge of the hood once the fur is off.Overall, with some modifications, it'll help me get through the snowy, bitter mid-Michigan winters, but it's not the holy grail of pretty, warm winter coats I hoped. I'll keep it anyway.
