So I have a van that has no rear windows which makes reversing a little awkward. I bought this in the hopes of keeping the rear camera live feed on all the time, so as to act as a digital rear-view mirror.The camera is very easy to install, you just place it against your existing rear view mirror and attach the rubber straps to keep it in place. Once attached, connect up the power cable to your 12v socket (or cig lighter) and you're all set.There's also the rear-view camera that will run from the back of your vehicle and attach back into the mirror. This one is a bit trickier as if you want the camera lights to work, you need to wire this into the brake lights to provide a power source. As I mentioned above, this is the reason I bought this and it works flawlessly.The 1080p recorded footage is nice and clear and you can easily make out number plates at a good distance in both daylight and at night.As with pretty much all dash cams, the footage will be recorded onto incremental time-stamped files which will loop over each other once the SD card (not included) is full.I am very pleased with this dash cam. Not only does the recorded video look great and easily identifies the vehicle registrations, but I can use the rear camera to act as a digital rear-view mirror for my van.

Fantastic item,But it has been designed for LEFT hand drive vehicles. Using it on a RIGHT hand drive vehicle the front camera is on the passenger side of the mirror. Fitted on to an existing 7 or 8 inch mirror this is ok.However If you have an auto dimming mirror or map lights on the bottom of your mirror. You will need to move this smart mirror as far to the left as possible and angle the camera lens as far to the right as possible in order to be able to line the camera up to see both front corners of your car. In my Mercedes ml this meant that on the right side 2 inches of my original mirror is visable.If you visit mainland Europe. Using two way roads the front camera position will let you see much better for overtaking as your view is further over than you leaning to the left to see past any vehicle you want to overtake. I am going to ask if I can get 2 more of these mirrors with the front camera on the right side rather than the left. For my wife’s mini and daughters BMW cars. They never take their cars out of the UK

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I purchased this camera as I really liked the idea of replacing my old dashcam which was attached to the windscreen and would mean I could free up valuable space and visibility when driving. This has done the job marvelously although much of my video footage was taken before I had time to fit the wires in the trim! This was an easy job though and there is plenty of cable length to fit most if not all cars.Fitting the rear camera is very simple - you just need to place the red 'live' wire on the terminal for the reversing light and it will automatically switch the camera to the parking mode when in reverse gear. This is a brilliant addition which makes this camera well worth the price.Before buying I'd read a few people mention that it had been designed for left hand drive cars as the lens is placed on the left hand side of the mirror. This is rectified by pushing the lens a little to the right which is easy to do. As the camera is such a wide angle lens it is not really an issue but I can understand why people may be a little put off by this minor issue.The footage it captures is of excellent quality and allows you to record both front and rear camera simultaneously. The 3min front camera files (1080HD) are approx 410mb and the rear is 97mb (640 x 480) file size. On a 30gb memory card I have just short of 3hrs front camera and 1hr 20mins rear camera with 1.2gb spare.This camera really gives you peace of mind when driving especially as you are recording both front and rear views. For this price it really is a steal and I highly recommend buying it.

I had looked at the reviews for this mirror camera and cameras from other manufacturers and was slightly worried about some of the negative reviews however in the end there was no cause for worry.The unit is only 3.5cm wider than my cars mirror and the actual display is over 16cm wide!I had previously owned HD quality dash cameras like Nextbase and Crosstour but had wanted to get a more unobtrusive solution.Fitting was a breeze and though my car is right hand drive the capture angle on the camera is more than adequate to bring in objects from the right hand side even half way up the bonnet from the cameras POV without offsetting the mirror too much .Also there is a lot of adjustment on the camera lens both for left to right location adjustment and a slight angle adjustment as well. I think that because the lens movement is quite stiff some users have been afraid to move the lens too far, just be careful it will move but remember a small adjustment on the lens gives a large movement on screen.The touch control on the mirror that brings up all the functions and control options is very responsive, the mirror surface reflectivity is OK, a touch dark in the interior but fine none the less. a night drive on the motorway was fine with no distracting dazzling and night rear view in the city was OK.The recording quality was excellent, there was an initial vibration issue but I solved that by increasing the tension on the rubber holders and placing two strips of high density foam between the mirror face and the back of the camera unit.Play back of the files was easy, Windows media player and VLC both played the files and provided good HD quality playback number late recognition at a medium distance was not an issue.Overall I must say image quality on the rear view mirror screen itself is very sharp and bright no matter the angle of view from either the driver or passengerThere are other functions on the unit but I haven't tried them as my car already has a rear camera, parking and GPS system fitted so I can't comment on the rear camera. The parking motion detection I also tried with no problems so far. Overall I'm delighted with my purchase and the price represents in my opinion fantastic value.
