Produced Perfect Pizzelles!
I did a lot of research on pizzelle makers. I finally chose the Chef's Choice 835 Pizzelle Pro after reading about its functionality and its reviews. It works exactly as advertised. At first I thought I wanted large (5-inch diameter) pizzelles so I hesitated before I bought this maker. Now that I have it, I love the 3-inch diameter petite-size pizzelles. They are perfect--not too big and not too small. Just right for handling and nibbling on and ideal for gift giving. The red light/green lights on the maker are so helpful in guiding you to know when the pizzelles are done or ready to pour the batter on the griddle. The latch to keep the top closed is well made and easy to handle. The griddle surface never sticks and it is very easy to remove the pizzelles when they are done. A recipe book comes with the maker, although I used my own recipe. The maker stores on its flat side when not in use. The price is right too! Highly recommended!

Well engineered and reliable for impressive, delicious pizzelle
Even if you don't like specialized gadgets, this pizzelle maker is worth it, especially for the price. Small and compact, it is easy to store and comes with recipes that make delicious, nice-sized pizzelle (we made both the vanilla and the chocolate) with ease and no mess. (As with everything, I recommend doubling the vanilla.) We also rolled and filled them to make little cannoli which we took to a party, but they got slightly soft over the time they sat in the fridge. So make sure to fill them at the last minute. It does take a bit of time to bake them all, but you can eat little bits of cookie that you trim off while you're working.

Chef's Choice 835 Pizelle Pro Grill
This pizelle maker is quite easy to use. It regains heat quickly, so there is very little time needed between making each "batch" of cookies. This pizelle grill makes three pizelles at a time, which is a nice feature. The pizelles come off of the grill easily, which is a concern that I had when originally deciding which brand to purchase. The recipe to make the pizelles is also quite simple. I made the first pizelles with my Mom, who is in a wheelchair. The following week, she called me to tell me that she had made them herself. She was very happy about that! The Chef's Choice pizelle maker is also easy to clean, after use. Another good feature - the pizelle grill stores in an upright position, so that it takes less cabinet space. I originally selected this brand because I also own a Chef's Choice Electric teakettle, which is well made and heats water very quickly. FH, Marietta, Georgia

good for making stroofwafels
I bought this pizzelle iron to make stroopwafels. The recommended heat setting is 3, but it comes out too gooey. I set it to 4-4.5 to get a nice golden color on the waffles. The pizzelle iron is coated with teflon, which makes it baking easy, mess-free (for the most part), and fast. I have a speck on the iron where the teflon coating either chipped off or flaked off during use. I've used it several times afterward and haven't noticed any more flaking. Cleaning the iron is a little tricky. Since it cannot be submerged in water, you can only clean it with a damp cloth/tissue, or a soft toothbrush. I recommend using a toothbrush to really get in the grooves to clean out the excess dough. Avoid using anything that will scratch the grill because it may cause the teflon coating to flake off. There's a dip around the iron (except the back) to collect excess liquid...usually butter! The lid is all metal, and the handle is a flat plastic tab with a latch that locks into place when the lid is closed. The plastic is rather flimsy and feels like will break off. You might have trouble locking the iron closed if the dough is too thick. Tips: ===== - I found it easier to close the lid by pressing down on the metal lid slightly above the plastic handle (use an oven mitten or a towell!), then lock it in place by pushing in the latch. - For Stroopwafels: It's easier to slice waffles in half if you cut off the edges. A 2.5" or 3" circle cookie cutter works great!

Great Little Pizzelle maker
I bought the Chef's Choice 835 after reading basically ALL the reviews on ALL the pizzelle makers on Amazon! I have not been disappointed! It is amazingly easy to use. Cooks up 3 cookies in no time flat. I love that the latch makes each and every cookie the same thickness - no guessing! The measuring spoon sorta helps with putting in the right amount of batter (we had some interesting cookies the first few tries!) A lot of that has to do with the recipe you use - my batter was thick and then spread once the lid was closed. We sprinkled ours with powdered sugar - gone in a day!! So, if you're on a diet...this may not be a good thing to have in the house. Cookies are just way to easy to make & eat! Easy clean up too - gotta love non-stick.

Perfect Pizzelles from Amazon and Chef's Choice!
I purchased the Chef's Choice Pizzelle Pro Express Bake for my 87-yr old Italian Mother! She loves it! The smaller pizzelles are a perfect dessert size. She liked the #4 setting for a golden color, and they were the right thickness without being too doughy. Anise oil adds a marvelous aroma and flavor. For additional richness, a drop of Pure Vanilla is wonderful, or lemon zest! I have added Limoncello to my batter for a richer lemon flavor with a kick to it! The top of the chrome lid does get hot, like a wafflemaker--and the first batch she sprayed the grille with a non-stick spray to prime it. Each batch was perfect and "bellisimo!" It stores easily, and came packaged and boxed very sturdy with internal styrofoam boxing. And...arrived in 2 days!!! Now I am purchasing one for myself, since my current machine makes two large pizzelles and I love these smaller ones! The price is very reasonable, since I compare shopped a dozen stores and sites! Thank you Amazon, you made it happen! And my Mama says "Gracia!"

Oh No Not Again !!!!!!
I was very exicted to get my pizzelle maker. I used it as per instructions. Never used anything but a plastic spoon in it...and never found the need for a oil spray. However on my second use I noticed the teflon was coming off on the very back disc...beyond the outline for the cookie. Was confused why it would be coming off there?? My cookie batch came out with teflon on it even!! I was so disappointed!!!! WASTED my money on a worthless product!!! The machine works perfectly , however none of us want to be eating teflon on our cookies. As much as I love this product I can't justify my family eating teflon!!!!!!! I have a picture of the teflon balding , and hope the company wishes to see it. DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Perfect little pizzelles
I chose this model for the smaller sized pizzelles it makes. As with any appliance, a few times will prove best. I made a couple hundred pizzelles and finally got the right amount out of my scoop. I plan on getting a 1-1/2 teaspoon tiny scoop for placing controlled amounts onto the surface. At setting 3-1/2, each set took 55 seconds. Turning up the dial only made darker pizzelles that were too moist to be delicious. My recipe: 3 eggs 1 cup sugar 1 TB extract/flavoring (or however much suits your fancy-anise, almond, orange), or 1/4 tsp oil (I used Amaretto flavoring and even at 1/4 tsp it wasn't pronounced, so play around if you use oils but I think 1/4 tsp is a good starting amount.) 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 TB lecithin (it helps with releasing after baking, not a required ingredient, but I found it beneficial) 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or some lemon zest 2 cup flour (I use whole wheat and it works super awesome) 1 tsp. baking powder Sift together flour & baking powder. Beat eggs. Add sugar and beat. Add flavoring and lemon. (I use a Kitchen Aid and crank it up to 10 and let it go for a minute.) While slowly beating, drizzle in butter. Now, drizzle in lecithin, if you are using. Slowly add sifted dry ingredients. Only stir enough to incorporate as you don't want to work the flour. It has the consistency of chocolate chip cookie dough. For chocolate flavor, substitute 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa for 1/2 cup flour and add some espresso powder, instant coffee, etc. if you like the coffee in your chocolate. Omit lemon and other flavorings. These smaller ones fit well into plastic bags and paper bags. I have trouble fitting the larger ones into containers for gift giving. So, after considering which appliance to get, I am very happy I went with the smaller ones.

Great little appliance
I received my order before the due date, so that was great. I used it the next day , made a batch with the recipe from the booklet. At first, I thought I had missed the recipe, but there is a note that the dough will be thick, so I continued! The full batch of pizzelles was excellent. The fact that we can lock the handle is great, there is no need to squeeze. The lights go on and off, which is fine but I was not fast enough to take the pizzelles off and put another batch before the light changed back. The heating is even, I sprayed them with PAM once. I still relied on the green light to give me an idea of how long I should leave them baking. You can lift the top part and look, close it back if it still needs more time. At first thought, the machine looks flimsy, but it does work very well. Glad I got it and I do recommend it.
