The Thompson Chain-reference Study Bible: New King James Version, Old and New Testaments

A brilliant Bible with Levant real grain leather. Text layout good and big enough to keep eyes fresh. Stays open flat pretty much most of the Bible. Thompson Chain Reference down outside and inner side of pages is brilliant. if I was stranded on a desert island with only 1 Bible - this would be the one. Only thing I would have changed is that I bought the Bible with the index tabs cut out - can be a bit annoying when turning pages as edge of pages are scalloped in different parts depending on where the tabs are. Thats only a minor niggle and is outweighed by all the good things. Quality of everything is brilliant. Sown Binding will last a lifetime. Well done Amazon and Kirkbride Bible Company.

Its a wonderful product and I dont regret purchasing it. It has all the information I need, easy for cross reference etc. It contains historical information that makes it easier to relate to any chapter you are reading.

A very useful book to use when researching a Bible topic. As the title suggests you can find the chain of Biblical references from Old Testament to New Testament.

When a pastor recommended the Thompson chain reference Bible, I bought it on his recommendation, about 30 years ago, and have never ceased to find it a rewarding faithful accurate resource, a substantial tool in my relationship with God, seeking out truth and intercession. An outstanding investment into truth for any one!

I had actually meant to order a NIV of the Thompson Chain Ref, but must have clicked the wrong link.That said this is a good version, but honestly know I would have preferred the NIV.

I was looking for a regular sized bible but got a handy size instead! This was not mentioned in product description and I even contacted the seller who could not provide this info.

Good buy. Bought it for a client who had become interested in the Christian faith and did the NKJV because that was nearer to the Bible translation he had. I find topics are useful (look up anxiety, etc.). Thompson topics are more self-evident. Also, helps on historical context have been updated and are pretty good. Outline of books are workable. All in all, a wealth of information under one cover. The chain reference means in reading a passage various topics are in the margin and can be followed either by going through the Bible text by text or by referring to a file number in the back. Many have the scriptures grouped together under the file number. Going through the "chain" text by text means it is easy to see the context of the scripture referred to. An excellent tool. Also available in NIV (I believe, at least I have one).

Thompson Chain Bible really doesn't need a review. It is a time tested collection of Bible references. I have a lot of similar reference material, but this has it all in one place - and it's easy to use.This is the first Thompson I've used with the NKJV translation. Of course the material is basically the same as with any other translation - this just references verses and the NJKV translation notes specifically for the NJKV.It was nice to find it in a non-leather (read expensive) version. The paste board hard-cover is a real find.

My husband has been wanting this bible for some time. He has used them several times but never had one of his own. I've never seen such a BEAUTIFUL BIBLE!!! This is definitely one of the best informative and historically accurate bibles. This bible filled me up just after reading and looking through it for less than 5 min. I'm ordering one for myself!

This is my 2nd Thompson Chain Bible. Amazon has two prices the higher price is for the thumb index bible. It is one of the best study bibles you could buy. It is one of the best because it helps you makes your own decestions by showing you most of the verses related to a topic. Itstead of telling you what the author of the study sermises. It gives you a history of the different bible translations. It tell you about each book of the bible. It gives you the dates the book and chapter were written any many other things.
