This is a lightweight envelope style jewelry case that comes in a textured cardboard box. The envelope is exactly as pictured with four folding faux velvet fabric panels and slightly raised neckform on the felt covered cardboard base.The top and bottom panels fasten with two small velcro circles and the base has 2 flexable security arms at the top corners to help keep your piece in place.I've included photos of a Silpada 5 strand freshwater pearl necklace in both the 16" and the 18" position for reference to the way it fits in the envelope.This will make a nice dust cover and will provide some protection from damage by other pieces in your jewelry armoire but I'm not sure I would be confident in using it for travel. I've given it 4 stars because of the box that the envelope sits in but I don't think the lid would remain secure with anything larger than 8mm pearls or pieces of equivalent size. I will use this for costume jewelry but will likely purchase something more sturdy for more valuable items.

I am in the process of sorting and storing some estate jewelry. I purchased this protect a strand of pearls.This folder keeps the pearls in place and makes a beautiful presentation for the recipient.
