Black (4 Novel Bundle)

I enjoyed these four books - I got a number of unexpected laughs reading these especially the interaction between Black and his parents........ I got what he thinks when with his folks.The interaction with his shrink is also funny - perhaps not funny for all.M

Russell Blake books = good reading. good character development and a good pace. I like his books

This guy's lucky he ever closes a case...but, all the blatant stereotype aside (heavy drinker, old time-y suits, the hat, the car, the weird instant attraction by some femme fatale), it's fun to listen to on audible to go to sleep to. I mean not extra brain needed, narrator does a great job. No surprises; fun stories, known character, easy listen/read

Have read all 5 books in the series and laugh until my eyes water at some of the dialogue between Black and his young assistant about their fat bastard of a cat, as well as between Black and his perv psychiatrist, and Black and his hippie throwback parents who insist on calling Black by his given name while they eschew being called Mom and Dad. No, they are Spring and Chakra and could care less about material necessities like money—altho they accidentally became filthy rich.This series is a hoot, the plots are rather incidental, but the situations and dialogue are priceless.Btw, the author’s book about How to Sell a gazillion Ebooks sounds like Black wrote it himself. 😆.

I don't like cats. So it is with great certainty that I'm in full agreement with the character Black when it comes to Muggsy the office cat. These stories are funny, well written, and are good mysteries to boot. I can picture every "character" described as a real person living in Los Angeles.Every story in the set was a fun read.

Jim Black is the best thing to hit the streets since taco tuesday! I was never a huge fan of detective novels yet here I am hooked like a crack fiend waiting for the next one. Russell Blake hit a homerun with this one. Never stop writing....or I'll find you!

These books are so good this is my first russel blake book and I plan on trying his other books. If you like the p.i. Noir this is for you

The BLACK series is so much fun. Yes, a crime gets solved in each book, but Artemus Black's personal life is what really makes the books. Artemus is adorable and funny, with wacky relatives, a snarky assistant, and an obese office cat that terrorizes his world. Buy this set and be prepared to laugh as you fall in love with each and every character.
