BEST TobenOne dock hands down. Over the course of the past year or so, I've tried upwards of ten docking stations for my Macbook Pro M3 Pro. My most recent purchase easily takes the lead as my favorite one to date. Like most docks from TobenOne, the UDS040M is an extremely versatile docking station designed for MacBook users specifically, and offers an incredibly wide range of connectivity options. Its standout features (for me) include support for dual 4K monitors via HDMI and DisplayPort, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, and plenty of USB ports for all of my devices. What's even better is that the dock is truly “plug and play,” and doesn't require any DisplayLink drivers like some others did in the past, which greatly simplifies the setup. Quite possibly my favorite part about it is that it also doubles as a stand for your laptop, so you can plug it in, drop it on the stand, and have tons of desk space available for other things. It's super compact and incredibly lightweight as well --- I don't know how they pack all of these features into a device of this size. Super cool! If you’re considering an all-in-one docking solution, the TobenOne UDS040M is most certainly worth exploring!

I recently purchased a Macbook M4 Pro (fantastic laptop by the way) and require a dock to expand functionality and provide a means to connect my Macbook to my 4k monitor. I tried several other docks prior to selecting this particular dock and none of them provided me with as many features as the TobenONE 18-in-2 dock. For starters, I think the biggest feature of this dock is it gives you a place to store your Macbook when it's connected. My Macbook fits perfectly in the vertical slot and thanks to the attention to detail, the rubberized coating within the slot prevents scratches of any sort on my MacBook. As it sits vertically in the dock, it's simple to connect the included USB cable to the two ports on my MacBook and all of my connected devices are instantly available as well as my monitor connectivity. I will say I looked high and low for a dock that was capable of more than 60Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution, but I wasn't able to easily find one in my price range. As far as the 60Hz 4K docks go, I don't think there is a better dock out there. I love the aesthetic look this dock provides on my desk while my laptop is connected. It is definitely wife approved. I only use this dock with a single 4K monitor and I have had no issues at all. Everything I have connected has been instantly recognized and the connectivity speeds of the ports are extremely fast. This is a must have accessory to anyone who owns a Macbook who wants to expand the functionality as well as utilize an external monitor. I highly recommend it!

I usually don’t like writing reviews but I am taking a moment to write one now. I made it a point because I ran into an issue with the unit I ordered off amazon with some of the ports not working and constant monitor flickering from the HDMI1 port. I use this with my M4 MacBook Pro for a two monitor setup with the MacBook closed. Unfortunately I contacted Amazon for a return because i understand that when mass producing units, there is always a chance you can get a faulty unit. Unfortunately it was after the return period. I immediately contacted TobenONE per amazons instructions. After two emails with the description of my problems, I had the replacement unit within two days that worked perfectly fine. Testing: FRONT PORTS Audio - Fine MicroSD - Fine SD Standard - Fine 10Gbps + 200w USB-C - Fine 10Gbps USB-C - Fine 10Gbps USB - Fine REAR PORTS 2.5Gbps Ethernet - Fine Audio - Fine USB 3.0 x 2 - Fine USB 2.0 x 2 (mouse and keyboard connections) - Fine Dual Host USB (not only for monitor, but also power - keeps your laptop charged without being connected to wall outlet) HDMI1 (for display 1) - Fine (no flickering - reason first one returned.. Faulty unit) HDMI2/DP) - Fine Understand, that I use all of the ports on the unit (per pic) including the audio port which is conveniently placed not only on the front end of the unit but also the rear. I give this five starts not only because it does exactly what I need it to do, but because for the first time when making a warranty replacement, this company contacted me immediately (matter of hours) after I sent them the email. I have used this dock for 10 days now and here are my thoughts about it. Pros: Easy setup NO DRIVERS TO INSTALL Can be used as a holder for your laptop , iPad, iPhone, etc. Better power supply than previous docks Cons: Only supports 2 extra monitors, albeit at 4K. (My usual setup had 3 external monitors with my previous dock.) 1 of the HDMI ports has an occasional screen flicker. The provided double USB-3 cord is very short. I'm using a longer one from a previous dock. The dock renders the built in HDMI port on my 2021 M1 Macbook Pro inert. I had hoped to keep the 3rd monitor that way. Overall it's a pretty solid dock if you don't need 3 displays plus the laptop display like I do. Still debating on whether to go back to the previous dock (which had it's own issues) or not.

TobenONE continues to make great products that deliver stunning screen resolution and performance. This small docking station answers the question, "What do I do with my laptop with the lid closed?" With three available display connections (2XHDMI and 1X Display Port) it has the power to enhance your gaming experience or just expand your work-from-home experience. It works very well with my 2019 MacBook Pro (i9) in both iOS and Windows configuration and also with my 2023 MacBook Air M2. Oddly enough it also can be used to show the screen of my iPad or iPhone 15 Pro with the USB-C connection. Fun for showing photo's or quickly connecting to help a colleague see what is on the phone or tablet. I am confident it would also work with any other USB-C device as well. Unlike the TobenONE quad dock, this does not use software to emulate the screens.. which limits you to 1 external monitor for a MacBook Air with the M2 chipset. (If you really need two or three monitors off the M2, the Quad-Dock is amazing. The front accessories are solid with 2 USB-C and a USB-A that can easily handle moving large files off an NVME enclosure or just throw in a thumb-drive. I also like the headphone jack in the front.. great way to use all those outdated Apple headsets that sit around in my desk and year to be used again. The customer support from this team is also phenomenal, and any time I have had to shoot them an email, I get a quick and friendly reply. I love the convenience of charging my phone or resting my tablet in the front cradle.. and it is also a great feature to store the laptop and clean up the desk at night. Overall.. no complaints. I will continue to use and purchase TobenONE products and recommend them to my friends and family.

Update: I ended up contacting customer service and they eventually sent a new unit. The first one ended up not even turning on. After reading other reviews, I realized that the flickering monitor and having to unplug and plug in the camera was part of the defective unit. So far the new unit is working ok, but it has only been a few weeks. Bought in March. All was great. Would have given it 5 stars. However now it is November and the Docking Station keeps shutting off right in the middle of meetings. Would love to be able to return. Quite expensive for not even working for a year.

I have this dock station setup for 5 mins. It is quite easy to have this installed, the power supply is pretty high quality, except a bit heavy than I expected. It truly supports dual 4K display, stunning visual experience and fairly quick response. It provides lightning-fast data transfer speeds over the USB B 3.2 10 GB port and the USB C 10 GB port, which is good enough for my daily life. I tested it with my external hard drive, it was getting over 500 MB/s, there is no difference with connecting to laptop directly. This is an excellent dock and I am always pleased with this product. Great build quality, excellent performance. I also like its design, I am boring with large size design of other brand of dock station, this product give the simple shape and saving lots of my working space, an amazing thing is that I could put my laptop on it or charge my phone during my work. It would be great if it could provide more USB or type-c ports, as I currently have several other external devices. Overall, it is a stunning product, highly recommended!
