It really works--if you're willing to find your own "sweet spot"
My first impression when I opened the package was along the lines of "what a piece of junk!" I'd been skeptical of buying this, because my husband had tried one himself a few years ago and threw it out after a few days of misery. But I'd been struggling for nearly 6 years to sleep with a CPAP without getting tangled up in the hose, and was desperate. I first set up the hose holder as shown in the website picture, and it wouldn't stay in place--each time I moved, the base would wiggle around and end up falling to the floor. So I started experimenting with positioning it, and found that if I placed it at the head of the bed, behind my pillow (with the base between the mattress and box springs, of course), and the top angled off towards my CPAP machine, it works great. In addition to previously getting tangled up in the hose--as I'm an extremely restless sleeper who prefers sleeping on my stomach--a major problem was that as I would change position, the hose would rub over the edges of the nightstand and/or headboard, making a noise that sounded somewhat like running a stick along a picket fence: a loud TICKTICKTICKTICK that would yank me straight out of the deepest sleep. I'm thrilled to say that the hose is now elevated enough that in the 2 months I've been using it, I haven't heard that sound once! I'll admit it does look somewhat like an instrument of torture, and I wish it was a bit more substantial, as I'm wondering how long the elastic will hold up. But in the meantime, I'm exceedingly happy to be getting the best sleep I've had in at least a decade. [P.S. I know I'm not supposed to mention other products here, but I do want to note that at the same time I bought this hose holder, I also purchased a new CPAP pillow. I'm convinced it's the combination of these two items that's worked wonders for me. I'll be happy to tell you which pillow I bought if you're interested--just add a comment and I'll respond.]

Works Like a Charm
Prior to purchasing this item, the c-pap hose would end up under the body, twisted and coming off when tossing and turning during sleep. With the hose attached to this holder, the mask stays in place, and a good night's sleep is effortless. This hose holder also keeps the hose from falling on the floor when not sleeping and it's compact enough not to get in the way of making the bed or getting in the way, period. It's high enough, but not too high. It's really the most perfect contraption. It's small, sturdy, and well-made and comes with a travel bag. It's great. I highly recommend purchasing this product.

He does not like to sleep without it.
Shortly after my SO was prescribed an ASV machine for sleep apnea and watching him try to rig up various supports for the hose, I realized he would need something like this hose holder. He was skeptical at first but after the first night of not having the hose get under his face, wrapped around the pillow, etc, he was convinced and considers it an essential part of his sleep routine for over a year now. It works with our 14 inch mattress, our 17 inch mattress, hotel mattresses and we use a thin piece of board to hold it still under our camping air mattress. As others have said, it works best at the head of the bed between the mattress and a wall or headboard. The stand itself is made of fairly strong metal tubes that are flanged on one end to fit together. The tubes originally had a piece of elastic cord running through them to keep tension when assembled and to allow you to disassemble and fold it up (kind of like a tent pole). But the elastic wore out and broke after about 6 months and we never bothered to replace it as the stand is still in great shape and stays together without it. I tied a knot in a hair tie to replace the loop at the top that holds the hose and that is working fine on its own. I highly recommend this stand to anyone who uses CPAP, BiPAP, ASV, or whatever else has a hose that gets in the way while sleeping.

IT REALLY WORKS..!!
If you are looking to help yourself w/ having to dealW/ your CPAP hose AND your covers to sleep.. this thing is for you.!! It ELIMINATES that fight. This allows the hose to dangle just right w/ flexibility and not yank it off your face while allowing you to just get that covers where you want them to sleep. This part gets 5 stars!!!The material it’s made from is not going to last more than 6-8 months AT BEST. It’s CHEAPLY made. The portability will be handy for travel… but it also allows for several weak points. 1 star for that.Even if your wife thinks it’s ugly and will turn your bed into a geriatric looking bed—- BUY IT ANYWAY…!!! It is the best help to a good nights sleep outside the CPAP itself..!!!

Well worth getting.
This product is wonderful. I decided to give this a try after many nights of waking up to move the cpap hose so I could turn over and one night when I woke up and the hose was actually wrapped around my neck! I've only used it one night and it worked great. Didn't matter how I turned over, the hose did not get tangled up with me. I put it at the head of my bed and it caused a lot of noise when moving in the bed. I'm going to try it at the side of the bed and see if the noise is reduced. I think the noise is from the mattress rubbing on the part that slides under the mattress. I also had to tape some paper towels around the rod to deaden any sounds made from the rod hitting the wall. This shouldn't be a problem with it at the side of the bed.Update 4/15/19: I tried the hose lift at the side of the bed near the head. For me, this worked, but not as well as it did when I had it at the head of the bed. If I laid facing the lift, rolled and laid facing away, and then rolled back facing the lift, the slack in the hose was not taken up by the lift. I would wake up and have to feed the slack back through the lift holder. I didn't have this problem when the lift was at the head of the bed. The noise problem when the lift was placed at the head of the bed did not occur with it placed on the side. I'm going to move the lift back to the head of the bed and figure out a solution to the noise caused by the mattress rubbing on the base of the hose lift.
