2012 two CD collection from the veteran British rockers. UFO remain a pivotal band who have endured for four decades, since their formation in 1969 and have outlasted some of their contemporaries. This collection charts their rise, from the heyday of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal in the early-to-mid-70s, to the era of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and beyond, capturing the band who went on to influence everyone from Iron Maiden to Metallica. Music Club Deluxe.

I think this is a pretty good compilation
I think this is a pretty good compilation. I agree with everyone else on the exclusion of Lights Out! I would prefer the live one, but that's just me. What about the live version of Rock Bottom? Or the incredible cover of Willie Dixon's Built For Comfort? Mogg sings with real conviction & Schenker plays some of the purest blues licks he ever commited to vinyl. One exclusion I find unforgivable, (it's also a personal favorite) is This Kids (from Let It Roll?). Killer track!. I'm sure there may be one or two others, but those are the glaring ones. As I said, a pretty good compilation from a damn fine British band who were far better than some of their peers! Apologies to fans of Thin Lizzy and Rainbow!

DYNAMITE STUFF FROM AN "OBSCURE" BAND!
This a fabulous and thorough compilation of UFO's music! It is a pity that I didn't realize at a much younger age that the group was in possession of such terrific hits! I had only been acquainted with "Lights Out" and "Too Hot to Handle" from my high school years! I put this CD set into my car player and over two days of listening, discovered that I had been badly missing out on some of the finest performances of songs of any band I had ever known! If you are at all like me, you must get this compilation CD! You will not regret it one iota!

Not a big fan of UFO, but this album is their best as the title implies.

Where was I?
I was aware of UFOs existence in the 70s but somehow never got to hear them. I've now made amends. What a fantastic classic rock band. Great right sound & they sure can play. Only niggle is at times can sound a bit like Bob Defer. Not such a bad thing, but Bob had that angle covered. Overall a sensational collection as a starter and like me I think you'll then want more. I especially love the live tracks. Maybe that was their forte...but the studio tracks are hugely enjoyable.

Superb!
Apart from the glaring omission of Light Out, this is a pretty good โBest ofโ selection. If you have any affinity with this band then buy it! And then order yourself another CD (like Essentials) that does include Lights Out (and a Studio version of Doctor Doctor). I havenโt listened to UFO for years and this takes me right back to my youth! I also have to pay tribute to Planet Rock for rekindling my love of UFO. Without them I would never have remembered how much I love this stuff

VFM UFO
Some great songs here which sums up UFO perfectly - but where is Lights Out!!! Good value for money and if like me you can't be asked digging out all that vinyl from the 70s and 80s (gathering dust in the attic/garage) - you can't go wrong for the price. Roll on Steel House and Hard Rock Hell!!
