Don't Be Fooled By Price and Antennae.
This thing is the "snake oil" of network extenders.Had no effect whatsoever and no matter how close I put it to my BT Hub 6, only one signal bar was alight.Bought a TP-Link AC 750 plugged it in and my house is instantly dead-zone free. Moreover, it is compact and doesn't look like a plastic Shiva goddess. The latter was £26...enough said.

Leaves dead spots with no place to hide
I preface this review by saying that, with inexcess of 40 WiFi enable devices, over 3 floors in a Victorian Terrace, there is considerable demand on my home network both in terms of bandwidth and reach. And as such I bought this daul band WiFi extender as a replacement to the 2.4 GHz WavLink extender (which i outgrew) to work with my main Archer AC TP-Link daul band router.Set up of the Perservere, unlike its name sake, is a doddle for both novice and competent users alike.Armed with little more that your phone and your network SSID and passwords you can have the extender up and running in less than 2 minutes (including changing the default router password).Top tip 1When selecting your network channel for you main router on the 2.4 GHz band remember 1, 6, and 11 are the only non-overlapping channels. So selecting one or more of these channels is an important part of setting up your network correctly, because your Extender automatically selects auto.Indeed I learned the hard way how mistakes at this stage can have a detrimental effect on your network's performance. So having opened a browser on my phone and typed the router web address (see accompanying documentation), entered then change the default password, I selected wizard select auto found my network, entered the password and amended the band names. If using manual it's the same process but instead of choosing your SSID from a list, you type the network name, and you can also specify a channel. The rest is the same.Top tip 2Giving your extender network the same SSID names and passwords as you main router means your device will easily find the network with the best signal in and seamless connect as you move through your property.Top tip 3Distinguishing between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band when naming the networks will help you know which network to use in situations where devices (lights and switches, CCTV etc.) are only able to work on the 2.4 GHz network (i.e. <Network Name> and <Network Name> 5).For those will a little less confidence and/or have less experience, the extender also comes with a handy guide on how to use the different functionalities. The router works really well and once set up can be easily moved around the house, needing only a power outlet. As a result of the extender's design considerations for placement is required especially if the extender is to be place or power strip, double socket or in a place with low clearance as the WiFi size may obscure other plugs.Top tip 4Regardless of the orientation of your router (i.e horizontal when on a power strip, or vertical when plugged into a wall) always have the antenna pointed up.Personally my only minor personal gripes are1. The some what a rudimentary website interface with seemingly no a ability to name or block devices, which naturally would come in very handy managing a home network the size of mine. That said since I'd already created a registry of MAC addresses for all devices on my network, device identification is less of an issue.2. Similarly, having been spoilt with an app for the both the WavLink and the TP Link I do miss having the functionality of being able to access, block Mac addresses or reboot the router remotely, and should a reboot be required I'd find it tedious having to move appropriate place in the house to connect to the routers. That said I've read reviews and article which put into question the security of such apps, so I feel conflicted for removing points for any potential decreased network security, especially considering things like websites user interface and apps can be developed and improved over time.Overall, and my minor niggles aside, for the price, this is a pretty solid and reliable, easy to use device and will definitely help you banish the WiFi black spots from your property.

Excellent Wifi extender - Much better than the TP link alternative
Really pleased with this extender, I previously brought this TP Link product as picture but it just didn't have the strength to get threw the walls into my bedroom. This this new one, I consistently get 3 or 4 bars, resulting in consistent wifi at similar speeds to when right next to the router.Very pleased.

Happy
The range extender comes well packaged in a lovely box with very clear instructions. It can be connected using the WPS button on the router; using the Ethernet cable to connect to your computer, or wirelessly using any wireless device. It's easy to set up using any of the methods. I did it wirelessly as my router has different IDs for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz.Once it's connected to the router, you plug it into any socket. The indicator lights on the front tell you whether it's in a good position/too far away from the router/too close to the router. It also indicates when it's connected to both bands as they have their own lights. This works so well, I can actually get my wireless signal a few doors down the road away and works really well in the garden too.Very impressed.

Longe range antana
Built a new garage, wanted WiFi in the garage but the 40m range is just too far for solid connection, the WiFi extender that has created a new WiFi network in the garage that can use with my phone, internet works flawlessly with no dropouts, speed is good and reliable and tested using a few video streams and all worked fine, overall solid unit not time to run.

Stronger signals, great for all devices
This item definitely improves your signal especially if you live in a bigger house with high ceilings. I've noticed however if your using this to strengthen a device that requires an ethernet, 1: buy new ethernet cables as the ones they provide likely arent going to be long enough and 2: it has a tenancy to sometimes just disconnect from the router, this only happened within the first week or so of buying it, it doesnt seem to do it now but just something to note.

Excellent product
Delivered quickly.Less than 5 mins to set up. Then pugged into the room we wanted it, and works better than the main incoming signal. A lot of the home phone and computers items, once set up for signal try to connect to it rather than our main signal from Virgin. hahaAn excellent product.

Not a simple item to install.
I bought this extender to boost my wifi signal in my house. If I wasn't reasonably IT literate, I would be left with a router I couldn't use. The extender, when linked to my router, changed my router name to a 'Broadcom' address, giving itself the Broadcom name and extension. When I reset my router name and password to what I need it to be for all the other 'Smart' switches and items I have around my house, then tried to pair the extender, it changed the name and password back to Broadcom. This item may work for you if your network name is unimportant, but is absolutely of no use to me. There is no tech support online and I was unable to resolve the issue. Fortunately Amazon's returns policy allows return.
