This lava lamp works fine- it bubbles and changes color. There's a remote to change the colors (batteries not included) and the LED light should last a LOT longer than the normal bulb lamps. But, the waxy substance inside smells absolutely horrible the first time you melt it. In the instructions it says the first time you turn it on "smoke is a normal phenomenon" but this isn't really acceptable to me. I had to put it out in my garage and open all my windows to get rid of the smell. I can't tell if it smells less with each melting, maybe? But definitely you want to turn it on somewhere out of the way and with good ventilation that first time.

First, I accidentally forgot to turn it off one night, and I will say that when I realized my mistake, my house hadn't burned down. The remote is plenty functional. I've got a weird side effect in that it actually also controls the ceiling lights in my room, but the signal for green on this remote and the lava lamp is the same for party mode on my ceiling, haha. So that's fun. My ceiling light remote does not work on the lava lamp though. It's likely going to be an issue in my household so I can't say I can recommend this product, but it's also not this product's fault that I had another light operating on the same frequency. I'd say, if you don't have any other remote based systems, this should be fine for you. The media could not be loaded. This lava lamp was easy to set up and easy to control. The remote takes batteries and then you can use the remote to change colors and settings. This light gives a great ambiance to any room!

I saw this here on Amazon and had to get it. I always wanted one when I was younger (I'm 70 yrs old) and the desire to have one again came back to me. Of course this one has rotating colors which is really nice. I've had it running for a few days now and I love every minute of it. The one thing you have to be aware of is that it gets VERY hot, so be sure to keep it away from flammable items and children. When I first opened the box, I thought it was broken because a metal spring hoop was stuck in the goop that melts and moves in the container. Have patience and let it get hot and everything settles down and works perfectly. The instructions are very minimal. No instruction on how the remote works, so just play with it and see what it does.

Amazing night lantern to get kids relaxed and get asleep

This is the first time I've ever bought a lava lamp since always wanting it as a kid this is the best thing ever I gave it to my partner as an early holiday gift and he loves it as well and proudly displays it with joy and pride and brings us a lot of fun and joy every single day. It's colorful bright and built beautifully you do have to take care to make sure that you don't touch the base cuz it can get quite hot apart from that love it
