I have used Eternabond Camper Roof Sealant Tape for years to seal my top edges of my slide outs . I recently decided I was going to go over all my dicor on my main roof with Eternabond . I order the 4 inches by 50 feet as part of my pre determined installed plan . I am very impressed with Eternabond as it provides a great seal that will last for years. It is a lot cleaner to apply then lap sealant and can be used as a stand alone seal . The only thing I will say is plan where you are going to stick it in advance as it is very difficult to remove once in place . The key to the tape is applying pressure after it is down where you want it . The roller works great for this . Pre cleaning is also important, I used rubbing alcohol after making sure the area is cleaned with soup and water, then let dry (do not apply if wet, or cold outside). The tape will basically stick and seal to anything other than 100 % silicone! It can be applied right over existing lap sealant as long as you clean it prior. Great to have a roll in your camper incase of an emergency roof repair. Honestly the best place to use this is on your slide roof. Most factory roof installs will have a small two inch layer of Eternabond or other brand of tape. First thing I do is add either a 4โ or a 6โ wide strip on top of that for added protection . That or both and layer it. Lap sealant cannot be used well on a slide as it will stick to all the seals , so this is definitely the best option . Some tips for install : - cleaning and pressure are keys to a good seal. - mark out where you want to put the tape down prior with a marker so you have some lines to follow . - a window screen seal roller is a helpful tool for applying pressure in tight area . Removal tips : - used a blow dryer or heat gun to gently tear off the top layer of the tape. The top layer will pull off easy, the bottom sealing layer will need to be cleaned up with solvent . If you are reapplying new tape, there is no need to remove the bottom layer. I would recommend any size of Eternabond for repair or an upgraded roof sealant option for a travel trailer . Second time ordering the 4โ , second camper I have used it on.

The roof of my enclosed trailer started leaking. The 12 year old factory sealant used under the trim had finally given up. After removing all the trim I found how poorly the trailer was constructed. They used rivets every 8-9 inches or so which left a lot of the aluminum skin buckled up; and would have been difficult, if not impossible, to seal. I added a couple hundred additional rivets to make everything smooth, then cleaned all the areas that were going to receive the Eternabond tape. Application is straight forward and easy. Be warned, you need to plan ahead, have a helper if you need one, you only get one shot at placing the tape. After you get it down give it a good rolling. It also worked great on the top-to-side 90ยฐ transition; just place it on one surface, roll it to adhere it, then fold it over and roll some more. Pro's: Ease of use, durability, adhesion, quality. This will forever be my goto solution for trailer roof leak repairs. Con's: None really. There is a learning curve to using it but if you've got two brain cells to clank together to make a spark you'll be able to figure it out.
