I tried some cordless ones as well and they just did not have the strength of compression. I also purchased my niece a pair of compression boots when she was heavily pregnant and coming home with swollen legs daily. That helped immensely. I saw that one other reviewer mentioned that they burned her legs. There must’ve been something faulty with her pair. I do not find the heat to be overly hot even on the highest setting. I have Neuropathy in my lower legs and feet so I was looking for something that would improve the circulation and sensation in them. It took a little getting used to using this. At first, the compression at any intensity setting was between uncomfortable and, in some areas, even painful. I haven't been using the device as recommended. I use it at each of the intensity levels so 3 or even 4 times a day. Using it in this way has resulted in a reduction of pain and almost eliminated leg and foot craps which have been common for me. I have also notice an increase in sensation in my feet that has resulted in better balance. My only criticisms are that the heat, even on the highest setting is negotiable. The closure is awkward and would be greatly improved with eyelets and locking lace so you could slip them on like boots and get consistent fit throughout. I would also like to see a pulsation setting with a slow build-up of pressure. At this point I can't vouch for the durability of the item but it seems well made.
