I've had a read through the other reviews and was not sure about this BUT was very impressed with this slicer a few people have said that it will not cut hard cheese well i always use cathedral cheese and it's not solid but it is harder than some and a few people have also said that the first cord broke well I've used this one a few times now and i have had no problems and that is me cutting full size the other thing was a lot of complaints about the cheese sliding when you are cutting well I'm disabled and my hands are not the strongest and i managed to cut my cheese and that was nice thin slices and straight with out it sliding about this cutter is very good on my glass top it has the rubber feet and it doesn't move as you can see by the pictures so if you are thinking of buying a cutting board get this it's easy to use and clean as the crumbs fall through the cutting Gap not like some on here that does not have the Gap i highly recommend this product as it also looks great with it being the chrome plated hopefully this helps you decide

I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with this particular product per se, but it seems to be a waste of space. Although the wire does not drag as much as most knifes its still not that easy to cut the cheese. Also each slice leaves a small line of chess under the cutting board. Once you have finished using it there is a mess on the worktop under it. If the tray just had a groove in rather than a slot then this would not be such an issue. I think unless you slicing lots and lots of cheese in one go then this product is a bit pointless.

This item was flimsy, there were no instructions and it fell apart after only a few uses. A couple of screws or rivets seem to have fallen out rendering it useless.

Really cute and cuts well. The cheese shavings do fall through the gap onto the table but I’d rather this than them getting caught somewhere internal and it being a nightmare to clean. Looks good too.

When their very expensive marble one broke they struggled to find a good replacement, after getting fed up with naff quality I offered to get them a new one off Amazon (they weren't sure, my Mam & Dad don't trust internet shopping, well they do now) I got this stainless steel one and it is still on the original wire (it is supplied with plenty of spares) It is vey easy to clean, as stainless steel tends to be... is a good all rounder and not a single moan about it.

Suggest a stop for the block to stop sliding whilst being cut. When cheese is cold fine but cheese warms up then begins to slide off the base

It's attractive and easy to clean. However, it could be more sturdy - you have to grip the cheese very hard to make sure it doesn't slip out of place.

I bought this to slice goats cheese (softish) and it does it brilliantly. Very happy with my purchase.
