These are very difficult to work with and very hard to ensure the tiny metal blades actually make a connection. You can't tell until you screw the whole thing together again, and if it doesn't work, take it all a part. The alternative screw type connectors - although expensive - are worth every penny

These are great connectors for the purpose of connecting landscape lights to a power cable. They provide a very secure connection - much better than the other valious malibu type connectors, particularly when using over sized direct burial low voltage 12 ga cable. They are not designed to interface two 12 ga cables, just 12 ga to 14 ga and/or 18 ga. There is other hardware available to connect multiple cables of the same or different gauges. As for waterproofing, use a good silicone sealer before tightening the screws.

This is a horrible item, it's impossible to make it connect too low voltage cables together. The metal teeth are too short. Ended up purchasing a different brand and worked easily
