This vest has a great potential to be very useful to a photographer. It has a good assortment of pockets and many of them. It's failing lies in the fact that one does not know what size to order. In all of my clothing, XL works fine for me. In this garment (labeled XL) I could not get the center zipper tracks to get any closer to each other than about an inch or inch and a half. I think the size of this vest was about Medium or below. So I had to return the garment. Consider the one star a rating for the fact that the return process worked reasonably well. Had the garment fit me I think I would have rated it at 4 or 5 stars.Update to the above. After the above review was posted, the company that provided the vest contacted me. After several message exchanges, it became evident to me that this was a case of confusion over the differences in the Asian versus the US sizing process. The company is providing me with a larger vest of the same type. I am thankful that this company showed that it is very concerned about its customers and wants them to be very happy with their product. As I stated above, I think that it is a good product having many features that I want in a vest of this type. My only problem was the fit. For these reasons I am changing my review score to 5 stars.

I've had this vest for about 3 weeks now, and it is exactly what I needed. I habitually wear a vest for the extra pockets, and I always get one slightly too small so that it doesn't close in the front because I want the extra ventilation and access to my shirt pockets. My regular vest is too hot for the 90 to 100 degree summer temperatures that we get here, but this one seems to work just fine. The quality appears to be first rate, and the zippers are holding up well. The flaps for the pouches need to be longer, and the velcro patches further down. As it is, anything in the pocket can push the flaps open. I wish that there was one vertical pouch long enough to hold several ink pens and pencils for sketching.

here's the deal, it IS going to be too small if you order what you think is YOUR size. so, order it two sizes larger. Fortunately for me, this is an excellent seller. they sent me one that fit in no time at all.When I check a new seller, I rarely read the 5 star reviews. I read the one to 3 star reviews. because I want to see the character of the company. I want to see how they resolve problems. in this case, the problem was ME and they resolved it with grace and kindness. Fishing, Photography, whatever reason you may need LOTS of pocket without lots of layers, this is your vest.

I really like the design and fabric of the vest. It has so many pockets and is quite useful when fishing to carry assorted items on your person vice carrying a tackle box. I ordered a size larger due to other reviews but I could have probably gotten away with ordering my normal size. Here on the central California coast I often wear a jacket under it and it is still plenty big. The major issue I have is the zipper, I only wore this 3 times then the main zipper quit working. Since I don't wear it for looks I will probably "Jury Rig" something to keep the front fastened so I can keep using it because I love the many pockets. UPDATE: The seller has sent another vest along with apologies for the faulty zipper. The customer service alone is worth the bump to five stars.

I have not been able to field test the vest yet but as it stands I have no complaints. Previous reviews mentioned the vest runs small so I ordered a XXL and it is more than big enough. It is very light weight with plenty of pockets, both zippered and Velcro secured. The smaller pockets seem a little too small for fishing accessories but probable just right for film canisters. The only problem that arose was the front zipper that was very difficult to engage and disengage, but after zipping and unzipping a few times it loosened right up. Once I get it in the field, I'll update this review but right now I'd give it a strong 4 Stars.

Appears to be a good quality vest with lots of pockets. Too bad the Extra Large ordered was actually the size of a US medium. Had to return

I have an LVAD which requires that I carry around two large batteries and a controller to make my heart pump work to circulate blood. Specific for LVAD wear is quite expensive--a vest is $109. I purchased this vest to see if it would work as well and found that I like it much better than the LVAD vest. I use one inside pocket for the controller and one for a battery. The other battery I place in the outside pocket, thus allowing me to zip up the vest with the only wire showing being from the outside battery to the controller. I then have pockets for my phone, a cash stash, keys and a pill box in the other pockets. I am sure that this vest would be wonderful for a photographer or fisherman, but it is especially wonderful for an LVAD patient who is looking for creative ways to carry around his batteries and controller! I will be getting more in the appropriate colors to accessorize. The only downside to the vest is the small matter that the zipper is on the wrong side. It still functions well, but it is on the left instead of the right ( where male clothing usually has it.) It is a small price to pay for the comfort and functionality.

This vest is exactly what I needed for metal detecting. Lots of pockets. The material makes it very comfortable even in ninety degree weather. I did order a size larger than what I wear because of the reviews I read. Fits perfect. Completely satisfied.
