Painstakingly Documented Authentic Narration
Well researched and documented version of the life and times of the Mumbai Mafia based on interactions with a host of inisders who were in the thick of the actions. However, I had expected a large part of the narration to be focused on the Don and his life post his fleeing to Dubai and then to Karachi which is rather sketchy.

Hussain Zaidi's books are a must read
If you are interested in reading about the world of crime, any book authored by Hussain Zaidi is a must-read. All of his books are based on meticulous research, facts and information which are also based on primary research done by him in the form of interviews. At the same time, his narrative way of writing ensures that the book is not boring or mundane.Always recommended.

could've been better
Dubai to Karachi started off with solid potential. I was curious to dive into Dawood’s story, but the book ended up focusing more on the lesser-known names of the underworld. It's informative on that front, but if you’re picking it up for Dawood’s journey or his political influence, it doesn’t really deliver. The writing felt more like stitched-together reports than a tight narrative. Some chapters repeat info, a few typos here and there, and the editing could’ve been cleaner. There are too many characters with vague backstories, which made it a little tough to stay hooked. If you enjoy the crime world details, you’ll find value, but as a Dawood-centric read it’s a bit of a letdown.

Misleading Title – Lacks Focus on Promised Karachi Content
The book's content does not align with its title. Only 10-20% of the material covers Karachi, which would have been fresh and engaging for readers. The rest revisits well-known stories from the 90s and Mumbai, many of which are repetitive. To better match the title, the book should have delved deeper into the early Karachi gangs—their origins, alliances, and conflicts with newer factions. More in-depth research and focus on Karachi's underworld would have made this book far more compelling and true to its premise. This version keeps the original meaning while improving clarity and flow. The header clearly signals the main issue for potential readers. Let me know if you'd like any further refinements!
