Inexpensive, easy to configure, and it works great! What more can you ask!
I've been a "fan" of TP-Link products for several years now. For "home" use, or even "SOHO" (small office/home office) applications, I've found their products to be reliable and more than adequate for most of my customers. This particular unit offers everything needed for installation, including a mounting kit, as well as a POE ("power over ethernet") adapter, to allow for installing the unit in an area without A/C power. The user-friendly interface makes configuring the unit a breeze, and once configured, it allows for expanding an existing (or creating a NEW) wifi network. Its "dual band" functionality makes providing wifi access to older (2.4 Ghz) as well as newer (5 Ghz) devices, a simple task! Unit can be either "ceiling mounted", "wall-mounted", or simply lying flat on a tabletop or bookshelf, and it works great in either configuration. (I've found the higher up you get the unit however, the better the range.)

The Festa system is well thought out and very reasonably priced for what you get
Amazing devices, i set up the first F52 with my 2.5 and 5 ghz seperated with a guest network and the controller provisioned and configured the AP. Pretty slick o thought. About a month later i got a second F52 to cover thw great room on my house (ALL the walls are concrete and steel). As soon as I scanned the QR code. The controller grabbed it and configured all 3 of the SSIDs in under a minute. When I gor my 3rd outdoor AP I scanned its code and bada bang it was online and waiting for users to connect. And moving from room to room used to mean dropped cell calls. But not anymore! These babys will handnoff your connection with out even asking!

Can ONLY be configured through the cloud!
Local configuration not possible. SSID locked! Can be configured via cloud but then local logins are blocked completely. Not acceptable!

Research before buying this.
Was looking for an access point to add Wi-Fi in a nearby barn that I wired up with Ethernet cable. This looked good and was inexpensive. The description said it did not work with TP-Link Omaha which is an integrated cloud based proprietary network system. I never heard of Festa. I discovered that this item is part of the TP-Link Festa networking system developed for the Home and small business sectors. Like TP-Link Omaha, you have to buy into the whole deal. So, this item will work only with Festa controllers and WILL NOT work with generic home networks. Additionally, when you establish an account with TP-Link you have to disclose a lot of personal info (SSID & network passwords) which if hacked could allow complete access to your home network.

Absurd Security Violation
Absolute absurdity! Will NOT adjust wifi security settings, SSID passwords or anything else prior products would. You MUST do that through the mother ship in Vietnam giving them access to YOUR internal network. I now know why the feds were trying to outlaw these guys!

Works better than expected. I bought this for my annex and somehow it improved the internet in the house as well. download speed at furthest point (through two walls, a kitchen and 12m) is 70mb and closer is well over 150mb. meshes seemlessly with the main house and provides wifi in garden too
