Good Pitcher
My mother-in-law had purchased this container and when I first saw it at a family dinner I couldn't stop gushing about how much I loved it. When I got home later that night I immediately purchased one for my husband and I. It's a great pitcher. Sturdy plastic and I've had no problem with leakage but I have had some issues with the lid. You need to put it on just right for it to thread properly. I bought this pitcher to replace a different pitcher that would constantly spill when we would take it in and out of our fridge. Since this one seals at the spout there have been no more spills. I love being able to completely shake the container, it makes making powdered iced teas and other drinks much easier and I shake it a little each time before I pour myself to a drink to make sure that any mix that has settled it fully mixed through. It's a little tricky to clean, I tried putting my hand into the pitcher but couldn't get to all of the edges so I have to use a bottle brush to clean it. If you have a dishwasher cleaning shouldn't be an issue, but if you are like me and do not have one make sure to invest in a bottle brush. I've had the pitcher a month now and even with the difficulty cleaning there has been no stains or smell to the plastic.Pros:Sturdy plasticSeals at spoutThe ability to shake entire pitcher to mix contents.Cons:Sometime tricky lidDifficult to clean. For me the pros outweigh the cons. I'm very happy with this pitcher and I'm considering buying another one in a smaller size.

Works as intended
I bought this to mix and hold nutrients for my hydroponic garden. It seals well with no leakage. The spout is flat, so I was expecting pouring issues. It pours just fine and easy to control the flow. The only issue that I have, is after tightening the lid, the spout is a little off center on mine. Causing me to tilt it to the side some to get a good pour.

Disappointed in product
This product is not leak proof! I bought this pitcher for two reasons, one it could be layed down In a fridge, and two, it was a true gallon capacity. The good part of this pitcher is it is a true gallon, it is easy to clean and easy to poor. I bought two of them about a month apart, returning the first one thinking it was just a bad batch, and ordered another one hoping I would receive one that could be layed down and not leak in my fridge. I was disappointed in both. They leak, the first on very badly, and the second one a little less. The process that was used left a lot of sharp plastic in the handle area and at the top where the lid screws on. It is VERY sharp, skin cutting sharp. Beware!I really wanted this product and am extremely upset by the quality. You expect something out of a household name like Rubbermaid, and to get not one but two poorly made products just leaves me wondering why.

Thick, sturdy, great seal
I needed a jug to master-batch lye solution for soaping, & shopped for something large, solid, heat-resistant, stable, and not prone to cracking or breaking, even after holding an abrasive chemical for up to a week. This Rubbermaid container fits the bill on every count. Two slight flaws prevent a 5-Star rating, the first being the off-centre placement of the pour spout when the lid is firmly affixed to the jug - nothing I’ve done will make it screw on so the spout is properly centred - not a big deal when sloshing OJ into a tumbler, perhaps, but a bit concerning when pouring chemicals. That said, the lid does have a very good o-ring gasket to ensure a tight seal, and drips haven’t been an issue. The 2nd flaw is the price - maybe I’m still living in the ‘80s, but I think $20+ for a moulded plastic juice jug that likely cost <$2.00 to manufacture, is a little steep. After failing to find one this size locally, however, I bit the bullet & got this one. It actually arrived 2 days ahead of schedule, too, which was a bonus. In spite of the rather hefty price and its wonky pour spout, I recommend this product to anyone who requires a solid drinks container, or something secure to hold their concoctions while playing mad scientist on their household countertops.
