Colonial America: A History, 1585-1776

Does what it says on the tin
I made the slightly foolish mistake about buying the Second Edition as well as this edition, but this one including p&p was £3.50 whereas the otherone was £5.00 inc. p&p. I guess it is an addional copy, but it does give an idea of how useful it it to compare between the two editions. The publisher has sought the need to make a second edition, but there isn't a whole lot in comparison. The second edition admittedly has a nicer cover, and covers a larger amount of time, from 1585 all the way up to 1776. The only things in the second edition will be a bit about Roanoke and some revolutionary events between 1760 - 1776. Everything else is pretty much the same, except for a bit of tidying up regarding the bibliographies and references. All in all, Middleton has an easy to read style of writing. And whilst you can read all of it at once, it is equally good at being a study guide, to be able to dive in and out of. You cannot go wrong with either edition to be honest.
