Much more cost effective than the conventional prefabricated ones. I use mine in my air purifier,central heat and air unit,and the back of my tower fan. The cost of pre-made filters just for the air purifier (himox) is ludicrous when I have to change mine every month, due to large dogs living indoors (creates lots of dust) and other normal daily living situations. Then the cost of monthly filter changes to the central heat and air, well yeah, it's stupid to pay that much. They say filters last 3 months, well by 3 months end, they're absolutely nasty and you're breathing that nasty in until you change it and it does drag your units. I also use on my tower fan, due to all the dog hair that floats around plus nothing wrong w a little extra filtering of the air you're breathing. The little sticky tabs that come along w it is great as I applied them to the charcoal filter then applied the cut filter (to himox for example). Also great on the edge of my central heat and air and the corners of my tower fan. They're also washable. Just cut to size and place where needed. I used basic laundry soap, washed,rinsed, wringed,let dry and replaced. And I can definitely tell the difference (these are so much better) compared to the expensive monthly filters, as I can clean and cut a new one anytime I choose and not worry about waiting until I can afford to get more,or when they have them in stock etc. It's great actually! Keep in mind, don't use the high merv rated ones you buy pre-made unless your unit requires it. Merv 8 is all you really need,especially if you don't have the funds to replace your units because you wanted higher Merv rating because you thought that it'll work better! Let your units breath just as you want to breath!

Good for certain situations but not general use. I tried them on an furnace/ac vent into my bedroom and it noticeably reduces air flow, which means that air from the furnace -already filtered by the high quality furnace filter we have - is not making it into our room as well. Price is good, easy to cut. I do suggest using it in places like behind a box fan in a dusty room, in a furnace air intake from a dusty room, or other situations where filtration would be useful.

I sent this filter back because it was not as thick as advertised, and I needed it to be thick.

My mother’s home seems to just blow massive amounts of dust everywhere all the time. Bc of her older air vents , I’m unable to tuck these up into the vents, so it’s a bit of an eyesore. But they work super well- I’ve noticed a huge difference in the amount of dust on our belongings. This comes in a large roll, so I cut out the size I needed for the vent- I was able to get 18 cut outs from one roll

A lot of particles detach from this Chinese filter , having polyester particles airborne is a serious health hazard !. Me and my wife got itchy eyes on day one. Thank God this is was an alarm signal, because this was getting in our lung !. Needless to say i am returning this.
