It worked once!
I'm a cable tech. I used it once and it worked great. Put it away in my truck for a week, tried it again and it does not turn on....and it's not the batteries....update 6-15-2020: Since I wasn't going to send it back, I figured I would take it apart... I found that the housing was loose. Everything is working great. It's much more powerful and can shoot the light a lot farther distance than what I normally use.

Feb 21, 2019 - May 6, 2019Been using it a lot the last couple of months. Good battery life and still on the original Energizer I installed.We’ve run it a couple of hundred times already in 9um cable and the light is very bright. All runs are under 2700’.I did drop the unit once and the light would not come back on. Troubleshooting revealed that the unit has the same construction as a Mag-Lite twist body.Once this was determined, I was able to tighten the body and the light worked.An excellent value so far and brighter than the VFL on my old CMA 4500 OTDR.

Always look directly into ports to make sure you see light
It works great. It says 30km which would be amazing. Maybe 10km Max on single mode with transitions all wave to true wave. Obviously less with patches. That being said this thing is an absolute beast. Way brighter than your 5mw vfl on your otdr or power meter. Better than your $300 Corning your boss swears by. Yeah it's a bit flimsy and it'll turn on in your backpack. Keep a spare set of batteries on ya. For $20 bucks this things a game changer. Your welcome.

Brighter light for easier fault finding.
Brighter light for easier fault finding. I work for a major telecommunications company and they provide my tools. I have a name brand $300 they provided. Nice quality for sure but it has a low light output compared to this. Yes it has a better on/off and is more durable but at 13x the price! Actually I use this one more often. I Even can see this in the daylight and at much greater distance. Even with my tools supplied to me I will personally purchase this again.

Very bright.
Works good. Batteries dont last long. Not a bad price. I got mine 7 months to use for frontier installs and it's held up well. The only thing i dislike is the on off switch. To turn it off you have to slide it in the middle. If you slide it up it is constant light. If you slide it down it is a flash mode.

This should be in all fiber kits.
Works for my productions. I keep 2 of these in my kit to trace large amounts of tac fiber for remote live broadcasts.

When it works, it’s good. But that’s not very long
Originally I loved this, the first one stopped working after a few days, amazon replaced it. Then billed me again when the broken one was not returned. Here’s the kicker, the replacement stopped working about 7 days after receipt and 5 uses.When it works, it’s bright. Superior light for fiber, but it doesn’t last long. In my experience

Very bright should be a standard tool for any fiber technician
Great products in the standard issue tools, cheap and easy to find aa batteries,only complained is slipping the tool in and out of a tool patch will very easily turn on the device,
