Great For Novice Explorers
If you’re not planning on taking this combo on any extreme wilderness adventures, you should be well-satisfied with a doubled up (x2) compass/fire starter combo. The sight line style is useful for general direction cross-country navigation without a map, and the 4-inch-long ferro rod with striker will throw a good spark in virtually all weather conditions. At listed price under $20 USD (time of writing), the value of this combo pack far outweighs the expense, and it should help ignite and direct the enjoyment of outdoors activities for novice explorers (of all ages)!Hope you found my comments and photo helpful in your consideration.

Horrible compasses
The compasses are horrible. The baring numbers are on the directional floating part of the compass. The sight finder is useless. The directional floating part moves to much. It took over three minutes for it to stop moving. If you bump it slightly the movement starts all over. For example there where times it would rotate 180 degrees when not being moved after a slight adjustment.I haven't used the strikers but no matter how good they are, the compasses makes the a horrible item.

For kids
This is something for kids . It is cheaply made and not sure how long it will hold up.

Decent Compass Great Fero Rod
This camping combo comes with two each of a navigation compass, and a Fero rod with a multi-tool striker. So let's start with a compass it's a good land navigation compass as far as function goes and includes a sighting wire and the standard two pointer face. The downside with this is it's all plastic. It's good plastic but it's plastic. It comes with a clip for hanging on your belt or whatever is. The Fero rod is good and beefy so it won't break off when you're striking it. And attached to a lanyard with it is a small striker with a roughed up surface for striking and it also contains a ruler a bottle cap opener and a hex head of some kind. All the product is moderate fit and finish and materials. But good for the price point and everything works correctly. 4 Stars.

fun starter kit
these are a perfect starter kit for my boys. we make fires during the fall and winter, and these are perfect for them to practice with. the compasses are great for learning too. they likely won't really use them for navigation, but i still want them to learn how they work. maybe i'll set up an orienteering course for them. these are great teaching tools to cub scouts, boy scouts, and any youngster looking to learn some outdoor skills.

Good Fire Rod and decent compass X 2
MOSSY OAK 4PC Compass & Fire Starter SetThe ferro rod and striker are good, work well. Surface must be scraped off before sparks will fly. Easy enough. The compasses are very workable, albeit made of plastic. So, just be careful with them, not the strongest.

Good set for a Boy Scout troop
This is a good set where you can order a few of them, and the entire troop will be set. The compasses are good for orienteering, and the firestarter set is good for the Scouts to practice with. One minor caveat is that the firestarter doesn't create huge amounts of sparks compared to others. I wonder if this is because the striker isn't made of a high-carbon steel.
