If you've got teens or young adult children, this book will help
I remember as a young adult, having just moved out on my own and had no clue about being financially responsible. To make things even more difficult, my parents had moved to the other side of the country, so I had nowhere to go if I failed. Guess what...I failed big time. I didn't know how to budget, I spent money flippantly and got myself into a whole lot of trouble financially. Only three months after moving out, I lost my job and found myself living on Unemployment, at a time in the late '90s when you didn't get much from Unemployment. It took a while, but I finally learned the lessons needed to be responsible. If only I had a book like this when I was 22 and stupid. This book covers most of the major issues that young people come face to face with when dealing with finances. It starts off by helping you figure out what your financial beliefs are and reflect on them. This helps you understand how your beliefs impact your financial habits. You then identify the negative beliefs and then learn how to shift them to positive beliefs. It identifies contributing factors to what causes you to spend your money (ie social media, your friends, phychological marketing, etc.). It then shifts to the importance of setting goals and visualizing them and making a budget to work towards those goals. When I was young, all I had was pen and paper to create a budget, but now there are a myriad of digital tools that make it easier to make a budget and stick to it. The book covers many of the tools available to young people to learn budgeting (Mint, YNAB, and Rocket Money to start with). It then explains how important it is to make savings the first thing you do when you get paid. Don't make it the last thing you do.One aspect I appreciate is the prolific use of QR codes that direct you to apps to download, quizzes to take, and videos to explain different aspect of money and budgeting. Where were you when I was young? The book helps identify means of earning extra income in the digital age, for youngsters who are short on cash, as most are. After this, it provides multiple creative ways to set money aside for savings. One was called the Challenge Savings Plan. This is where you put $1 into savings the first week, then $2 the next, $3 the following, and so on. After 52 weeks, you will have saved $1378. That is such a great idea, that I'm actually going to do that myself. After savings, it delves into investing properly. It explains the different ways to invest and the pros and cons of each. It then explains the importance of saving for retirement, which I seriously doubt very many young people think of. I sure didn't.Probably the most important aspect it covers is handling debt. It explicitly says to treat credit cards like debit cards. Don't spend money you don't have. I know many adults have learned this lesson the hard way and think this statement is stupid to point out, but most young adults haven't learned this lesson and it's best to make sure they learn it before they have to learn it the hard way.Because a lot of young people have taken on student debt, it provides some nice explanations on how to tackle it practically. The book covers many other topics that are valuable for young adults to know before they come to them, like investing for the future, renting vs. home ownership, as well as taxes and financial anxiety, and it provides some in depth explanations for each subject. To finish off, it covers the Gig economy and being an entrepreneur in the digital age. It covers tools to use, like Quickbooks, Quicken, etc (things I use for my own Gig economy job). This book is not an in-depth look at finances. It's meant to be a high-level cover of finances so as to not scare away young adults and provide useful information and lay a strong foundation for further education in the matter. I think many teens and young adults would benefit from from this book.

Definitely more than just the basics
Although the formatting on titles was a bit off and AI generated images leave a bit to be desired, the content of this book is solid. I really liked the QR codes to scan for quizzes and videos and I like the 50/30/20 rule which seemed a good general outline of how to set up monthly spending. The book includes chapters about entrepreneurship and alternative ways of earning money as well as how to beat anxiety around money topics and growth mindset, global economy and financial management ethics so, while it might be a bit beyond the average "teen" interest level, it's a really comprehensive resource that could serve them into the future.

Great resource for kids
What an important topics this is. Unfortunately, the school system isn't very good at teaching our kids about their money and how they should manage it to ensure they have enough savings to live and also learn how to invest wisely. This book takes and absolute beginner, and ensures they understand everything they need to know about money to success.
