I had a spare PCIE disk so got this enclosure to use as an external drive. really good buy, its well made and rugged, and has a great transfer rate over USB-C. All cables and bits are included to slot in your own disk and connect via standard USB or USBC/Thunderbolt. Runs hot at full pelt, but generally thats only for short periods, and there is plenty of cooling in the unit.

I have purchased a similar item a few months ago which was cheaper but didn’t work, the adapter was recognised but the nvme card inside wasn’t. This time when buying a 1tb capacity card for my laptop I would try a different external case to use the old 500gb card. This case looks and feels a quality product. A bit fiddly picking the right heat pad to use but , at least you have a selection to choose from. Other reviewers mentioned unsuitable for cloning so I did a full backup using macrium software and all went smoothly. I will be buying the same case again soon to utilise the original 256gb nvme card supplied with my Asus rog lap. The Adwits case isn’t cheap but it does the job it’s supposed to.

I bought this to help me upsize the SSD in my Yoga 370 (from 240 > 500). The plan was to replace the original Samsung SSD with a Samsung 970 EVO 500Gb. I downloaded the Samsung software but it would not see this device. I used EaseUS Todo (free download) to clone my original drive to the new (500Gb) mounted in this device and it did the job without a hitch, via Thunderbolt / USB C, it was quick and with no errors.

I was looking for SSD adapter compatible with SAMSUNG SSD 970 PRO long time. It is a good solution for SAMSUNG SSD 970 PRO. Small, heavy duty but light adapter.

Easy to assebmble and with a coulpe of pictures on how to do it eas really easy. Eager tobtest the speed I connected it to my MacBook Pro with thunderbolt 2 (proper cable included) and it works without a hazzle. I get 930MB (yes MegaByte) per second in and out. It hits that roof and stays there. Don’t know why since the M.2 I use can handle about 3000MB/Sec. I use Samsung Evo 970 512MB. Not full speed that is. But almost twice the speed of a SATA M.2. The major drawback besides the actual speed is that it gets really really hot. A heatsink could be an option or even a configuration with a peltier element and coolers. Some way to get rid of the heat is a must or it will break.

I've tried 2 different M.2 Nvme drives in this device (SANDISK EXTREME PRO® M.2 NVME 3D SSD) and a basic Samsung 256GB M.2 NvME. The controller (JMicron) is recognised in both Windows 10 and on a MacBook Pro; the SSD's, despite having been initialised (recognised by the 2 different laptops with M.2. PCiE board slots) are not recognised by the OS's when slotted into this adapter).... useless.

Works perfectly. Used it with the Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2 to clone my system drive for an upgrade of the factory SSD because my laptop doesn't have a spare M.2 port. It comes with spare screws, a screwdriver, protective pouch and silica gel. And 2 cables, USB type C and USB 3.0. It's easy to use even though it doesn't come with any instruction manual. It's quite small and fits well in the pocket. Now I've put the replaced 128GB SSD in it as an external drive.

Happy with the adapter - No issues found - will recommend - currently using it when upgrading devices so i dont really closed it as the screws are a bit annoying to put back.

Un poco cara para el uso que le he dado, clonar el ssd, pero funciona muy bien. El Samsung Data migration no reconocía el disco como original cuando estaba en esta carcasa. Por lo demás: sólida, fiable, rápida y fácil de ensamblar.

Excellent produit, boitier métallique très compact, de bonne qualité et esthétique. Livré avec un tournevis, des vis pour fixer le SSD et des patchs pour la dissipation thermique. Le boitier chauffe un peu mais la dissipation est bonne. Bien évidemment la vitesse d'échange par l'USB, même en 3.1 n'est pas aussi rapide qu'en directe sur une carte mère mais mon Samsung 960 EVO que j'utilise en backup fonctionne à merveille. Difficile de trouver un défaut à part l’absence de notice et des cordons USB un peu courts...

ne ho provati diversi spacciati per compatibili NVMe samsung ma in realtà era per normali ssd.... installato il tutto e disco riconosciuto al primo colpo. incluso nell'adattatore sono presenti 4 viti di scorta un piccolo cacciavita calamitato un cavo micro-usb e un cavo micro usb-usb type c e un dissipatore adesivo. l'adattatore al tatto e' di buona fattura le viti sono veramente piccole e quando si andrà ad avvitare l'ssd al suo interno bisogna perderci un po' di tempo per fixarle. sono rimasto molto contento di questo acquisto e mi ritengo di acquistarne altri a breve... peccato che bisognera' aspettare circa 3 settimane per riceverlo (provenienza cina) ma ne vale la pena. ve lo consiglio volentieri.

Mir ist bei einem schweren Verkehrsunfall ein Lenovo T570 samt SSD verbrannt. Das Notebook ist bei dem Unfall aus dem Fahrzeug geschleudert worden und das Fahrzeug lag mit dem Dach auf dem Notebook und ist komplett ausgebrannt. Das Notebook war nur noch ein Klumpen Asche, aber die SSD konnten wir retten und mit diesem externen SSD-Gehäuse tatsächlich noch auslesen!!! Die letzte Datensicherung war vor 4 Monaten, Glück im Unglück! Ich habe vorher andere Adapter ausprobiert, leider nicht für NVMe SSDs geeignet, wo ich schon die Befürchtung hatte, ich müsste die SSD zu einer Datenrettungsfirma geben. Das Gehäuse ist aus Aluminium und es werden Kühlpads mitgeliefert, mit denen die Wärme des Controllerchips und der Speicherchips ans Gehäuse abgeführt werden kann. Und ohne Gehäuse werden diese sehr warm! Die Passgenauigkeit ist super und die mitgelieferten Kabel sind kurz und stabil. Über eine große blaue LED kann man zudem sehen, wann Zugriffe stattfinden. Wirklich ein sehr zu empfehlendes Produkt!

Ich kann mit diesem Gehäuse nur zufrieden sein, all meine Erwartungen wurden vollends erfüllt. Ich habe mir das Gehäuse angeschafft, um regelmäßig mein M.2 PCIe NVMe Systemlaufwerk zu klonen. Ein aufwendiges neu installieren des Betriebssystems, der Programme und den jeweiligen Einstellungen dauert einfach zu lange, so viel Zeit und Nerven habe ich schlichtweg nicht, mit einem klon kann man sofort weitermachen, ein unbrauchbares System kann schneller kommen als man glaubt, durch fehlerhafte Treiber oder WindowsUpdates, Verschlüsselungsschädlinge oder defekte Datenträger, all dies ist mir zum Glück noch nie passiert, aber - lieber haben und nicht brauchen, als brauchen und nicht haben. Es hat eine Umweltfreundliche Verpackung, die Verarbeitung (Gehäuses, Elektronik, Kabel) ist als gut zu bezeichnen, der Lieferumfang (Schraubenzieher, Schrauben, 3x Wärmeleitstreifen (1x dick & 2x dünn), zwei USB Kabel) ist zufriedenstellend - eine Anleitung gab es leider nicht. Die fehlenden Anleitung hat es schwer gemacht herauszufinden, wie viele und welche Wärmeleitstreifen wo hin gehören, da die Streifen jedoch wieder leicht zu entfernen waren ist das nur eine Kleinigkeit die man wohl nicht all zu tragisch Werten sollte, es kommt wohl auf den Datenträger an was wo hingehört, bei mir war es der dickere Streifen zwischen Platine und Rückseite der SSD und "ein" dünner streifen zwischen der Oberseite(Chipseite) der SSD und dem Gehäuse. Das klonen war extrem schnell beendet, dies hat nur wenige Minuten gedauert, bei einem 3/5 belegten 512GB Datenträger, die Geschwindigkeit war enorm, zuvor hatte ich noch schnell einen Leistungstest mit AS SSD Benchmark durchgeführt, wo die Lese und Schreibrate (Sequenziell) jeweils etwas über 1GB/s war, ob dies noch schneller ginge weiß ich leider nicht, womöglich fehlt ein optimierter Treiber für den 3.1 Typ-C Zusatzkontroller an meiner Hauptplatine, aber das ist bei der Leistung kaum relevant für mein unterfangen. Das Gehäuse wurde recht warm, aber nicht zu warm, das massive Gehäuse und die Lüftungsschlitze an den Seiten kühlten die SSD scheinbar ausreichend. Die genutzte SSD in diesem Gehäuse ist übrigens eine Samsung 970 Pro (geklont wurde von einer Samsung 960 Pro), es gab keine Schwierigkeiten sie unter Windows10 bei der Datenträgerverwaltung zu Initialisieren/Formatieren, die Klon-Software ist Paragon Drive Copy 15 Professional. Noch etwas neutrales beziehungsweise nebensächliches, für meinen Geschmack ist die Beleuchtung überflüssig, aber gut, das ist wohl Geschmackssache, in einem abgedunkelten Raum ist die blaue Beleuchtung deutlich wahrnehmbar, blau ist zwar schön aber dennoch relativ nutzlos, ich betrachte es nur als Stromverschwendung, ein deutlich kleineres/schwächeres Lämpchen hätte es sicher auch getan. Die Lieferung war sehr schnell, ich würde es noch einmal kaufen, ich kann dieses Produkt empfehlen.
