Worth the money
Really good tool. Lasted for afew hours with a 3mah Makita battery (with battery converter). Cuts through thick branches easily

Great piece of kit.
Just brilliant, I already have a few of Ryobi tools battery and charger. Very easy to set up and I used it first time at full length. I was amazed at how quickly it went through a fairly hefty branch of a tree overhanging my driveway. Using at full length it is important to have a good surface to steady yourself on and wear protective head gear goggles also gloves. Keep your support hand as far as possible along the extension arm as the chain cutting end will surprise you just how quickly it can cut and all of a sudden you will have a weight to contend with. It’s an excellent little chain saw and whole thing is easy to put together for use. My battery lasted long enough to trim all the branches I needed removed. Well deserved 5 stars to the Ruobi team.

Very effective pole saw
This pruner comes in three sections, motor at the top, an intermediate optional section in the middle and the battery and trigger at the bottom enabling it to be used at two lengths. The pole itself appears to be made of a glass reinforced plastic tube with the connectors riveted in place, this makes the pole a bit wobbly particularly at the joints and I would suspect this is where any failure would occur either structurally or electrically, time will tell on that one.I have used mine with the 5.0AH lithium battery pack and found it very effective trimming back some very large branches about 150mm dia. which is much more than it was designed for. Battery life is good & it kept going all day on the same battery pack. The chain oiler is irritating as this is a simple drip feed, the saw needs to be used, transported and stored in the upright position otherwise the oil will trickle out . If you lay the saw down even for a short while it will dribble oil as soon as you pick it up, usually all over the operative, keep it upright and its OK.Generally its a very good piece of kit, its light enough to use easily but has enough weight on the head to achieve a good cut without having to apply additional pressure providing the chain is sharp, but that applies to all chainsaws. If you already have the Ryobi battery pack this pruner is a no brainer, its good value for the money and does exactly what it was designed for, yes the oil can be messy but its manageable, would I buy it again ? Definitely.

Great but if kit!
Great product from Ryobi, solid quality and power for the price range. Easily took care of the overgrowing trees coming into my garden. Weight is slightly heavier than expected but the comfortable strap helps with this. Great design and the reason I stick with Ryobi.

Terrific addition!
The poles take a little getting used to when fitting together but worth the effort. I have deducted 1 star from battery life only because I got through a 5ah battery in about an hour of admittedly hard use. The pluses are multiple in that it is easy and safe to use (if you follow the instructions) and can cut up to 4m high and up to 6 inches in girth of tree trunk. The blade is "pre-canted" by 30 degrees so no need to push down on the pole to exert force but cuts by pulling slowly towards you.Great product for anyone with high hedges or small trees to maintain but if cutting through thick branches regularly bring a spare battery

My honest review of the Ryobi Cordless Pole Pruner
Let's face it, wrangling a ladder and a chainsaw to trim those out-of-reach branches is a pain. Enter the Ryobi Cordless Pole Pruner, my new best friend for sky-high yard work. This little beast extends up to 4 meters, which means I can ditch the ladder (hallelujah!) and reach branches that would normally require some serious acrobatics. Plus, it's cordless, so no more detangling myself from extension cords like a jungle explorer.Power-wise, it packs a punch with a high-torque motor and a sharp 20cm Oregon chain. Most branches don't stand a chance, although I wouldn't recommend it for tree trunks (unless you're looking for some serious arm exercise). Now, here's the thing: battery life can be a bit of a gamble. Depending on the size of the job and the battery you're using, you might need a spare. Also, if you're tackling monster branches, this pruner might whimper a bit. But for most homeowners like me, it's just right.Overall, this Ryobi pruner is a lifesaver for keeping my trees in check without the ladder dance. It's easy to use, convenient, and gets the job done. Just keep in mind the battery situation and branch thickness, and you're golden.P.S. It's plastic, not metal, so don't go crazy Tarzan swinging from the trees with it.

An Impressive Tool !
I only received this saw today and have given it a quick try. I have several of the Ryobi One+ tools now - note that the saw comes "bare" without battery or charger. I have a few Ryobi Lithium Ion batteries and the beauty of the One+ system is that they fit all of the tools in the range different AH ratings giving different run times. I have found 4AH to be a good balance of price/run time.Back to the saw - it comes with an extension pole but I initially used it without. The saw comes with a small bottle of oil to fill the reservoir - you'll soon need more. The saw zipped through 4 to 5 inch branches on a tree which had got out of hand and in ten minutes I had transformed it :)) there's a lot of power there and the tool also comes with a clip on strap which is useful as it can feel a bit top heavy due to the chain saw mechanism on the end.All in all already very impressed and the tool will pay for itself in no time given what would need to be paid to bring someone in.
