I've been a vegetarian for about 6yrs now and despite taking multiple vitamins a day I kept feeling like I was probably missing some nutrients. I had heard from an older woman that taking a spoonful of jello powder in hot water everyday has helped with joints and knowing that jello is basically just gelatin I thought maybe I should add collagen (since gelatin derives from collagen) to my diet. But I didn't want any cow/pig/chicken derived collagen so figured I would give this marine one a try. I have been using 1 scoop in my tea every night. It does have a faint whiff of marine life to it, think like how some multivitamins smell if they have fish oil in them. But there is no taste. I've only tried dissolving it in hot water as well but it does disappear very quickly without needing to stir. It's been 1 month and I have noticed improvements in my skin. My facial skin seems more supple. Although I'm still dealing with dryness (it's winter and I'm using retin-a) I think it has helped. My hair has always grown quickly so can't say if it's helped with that. By far what I think it has helped the most is the keratosis pilaris I get on my upper arms. I wasn't expecting that benefit but I started noticing after a few days and I feel like it has to be the collagen cause I haven't used anything else new. And in general I just feel better. I only have a few days left of my first jar and for $36 dollars, I'm pretty much dropping $1 a day on this since it doesn't last long at all. The suggested serving size is 1-2 scoops and no way would I be buying this 2x a month for 2 scoops a day. I'm purchasing one more time since most articles say to give collagen powder at least 6 weeks to see real results but then I'm looking for something cheaper. This brand is just expensive because most other sites have it listed for $32-39.

The media could not be loaded. I bought Vital Proteins Collagen Marine Peptides because I read it helps with pain. I walk a minimum of 7 miles a day and 10 miles maximum and my body just couldn’t keep up with the daily mileage and my ankles kept making popping sounds while walking. Also my knees would be in pain everyday and I’d always end up applying ice several times a day or take pain relievers. I’ve been using it for 2 months and the ankle sounds have disappeared. I feel completely happy my knees feel normal again without having to apply ice or even elevate my knees above the heart.It’s definitely pricey for the amount of powder you receive but I can’t imagine myself going back to the old days when I was experiencing pain on a daily basis. The container came sealed but without a measure spoon. I had to buy the spoon separately. That was somewhat of an inconvenience considering the costumer wants to use this right away.When it comes to the smell or taste, I don’t particularly smell nothing resembling fish. Does it have a certain flavor? Not at all! I like to drink it in smoothies and tea. It’s perfect because it dissolves absolutely great in hot tea or cold, blended smoothies.I’ve not seen any changes in my hair or skin yet. Maybe after a year I can come back and update this review.

Opened this on January 1. Scraped my last scoops out of it this morning (Jan 10). Wish I knew if it was working at all but you can’t possibly tell by taking it for less than 2 weeks. It mostly dissolves in hot water but still leaves some small clumps. No taste. Will definitely be trying another brand that comes with more product inside. Only gave 3 stars because it was delivered very quickly.

Very pricey for such little quantity. Box is big and pwder is like half way in there. I thought I would get a full container but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I just started using it. Waiting to see how it goes. So far so good ! I would request Amazon to lower the price for this amount of quantity!
