It's helpful to have gel-based food coloring for when I'm making whipped cream or frosting, because the gel doesn't water down the base like a liquid colorant does. These gel colors are easy to add to whatever I'm mixing, although I need quite a few drops/squeezes to create more vibrant colors. With only a few drops, these create pastels, which are pretty, too. The set of nine colors has some very useful shades that I'm not used to seeing in standard food coloring, like orange, purple, and brown, and I'm glad to have them; it can be hard to try to color mix your own brown, without using chocolate!

These writing gels aren't the easiest to use. When opening the product, you have to make sure it doesn't spill out quickly and get everywhere. The product is watery and it does take a while to dry out.

Everything about visa is perfect, except for how much of it I actually need to make most food colored. it might just be because I'm using this mostly in whipped creams and other dense foods like that. But I find that the color doesn't go quite as far as I expected versus other types of food coloring. But that just might be a side effect of how gels work.Despite that small misgiving, these are otherwise flawless. And I absolutely adore the specific shades that were going with. These are the closest twin to Pantone colors that I've seen come out of food coloring.

I did not make buttercream, I did not have the ingredients on hand.The purple and pink were very vibrant in the bowl but did not photograph well, not sure why.The glaze sets up so it is dry to the touch within 30 minutes and the blue coloring did not interfere with that timing when I tested it on a thin sugar cookie. The gel itself has a very slight sweet flavor, it does not add anything to the frosting except color.As a former cake decorator, I'm very happy with these gel colors and I look forward to using them on future baked goods.

These are perfect for food coloring liquids or food like cake ect. Doesn't taste like anything. It won't alter your recipes much if at all. Didn't stain any of my cooking utensils. Very happy with it, I highly recommend it!

the Gel Food Coloring Set has 9 colors. each of the colors based on color mix formula comes out bright and looks nice. you can even use it to color eggs. i thought it was easy to use in the tubes.
