IThe shower head I installed was large and it was spraying to the back of the shower. This swivel allowed me to direct the water on me instead of the wall. Such a small item made such a big difference. It is pretty pricey for what it is though.

My existing shower head lacked the swivel range to hit some areas of the shower, this fixed it. The only bit of a negative is that Oil-Rubbed Bronze hardware is more expesive.

good solution to install in my shower arm to keep water pointing inside the shower area!

When I first received this item, I was concerned that it would be too sloppy because it had no resistance to movement by hand manipulation. When installed and tightened, it made movement very stiff. The only thing I could find to give it a con was the radius of articulation is very limited. It works just fine for my needs, but if you need a large radius of movement of your showerhead, this may not be for you.Contrary to some reviews, this item's threads sealed nice and tight. No leaks in my case.

The only problem was the gasket broke on one of the units (we bought two) when tightening and was difficult to replace. But the end result is great. The threads work with our Moen shower head (the first purchase of a similar product -- different brand -- was not compatible with standard shower head thread.)
