Great functionality, but not convinced eye cups are silk
The customizable fit, comfort, and blackout effect of this eye mask make it by far the best sleep mask I’ve ever used. However! I paid a premium for the silk eye mask, which very clearly says that the eyecups are 100% silk. Receiving the mask, the outer band is clearly silk, but the eye cups look like a machine knit elastaine blend. The sheen is totally different, and I can SEE the weave, and if I pull on the fabric it stretches. The eye cups also had very slight pulling after their first wear which silk should not do. That may also explain why it appears you can’t buy replacement silk eye cups. I’m keeping the mask for its superb function, but I am definitely disappointed. UPDATE: I reached out to Manta customer service and they confirmed that they switched from a woven to a knitted silk, but confirmed that the eyecup are 100% silk. Updated to five stars.

I slept soundly for 5 hours!!
I have had this product now for five months. I have utilized it while flying four times now, on a 30 day cruise, and my nightly routine when I know I need to get a good nights rest and this by far is the most comfortable, luxury feeling and pampering Eye cover I could ever wish for. It’s beautiful and the color is perfect, I got the purple. It literally helps me to block everything else out and just fall asleep. I do wear lash extensions and the space for my eyelashes is perfect… I never have to worry about Ruining my semi permanent lashes. I highly recommend this mask. It’s been a game changer, especially while traveling either in the car or on flights or on a ship.

Quality sleep mask that is worth the money
In my opinion, Manta has the best sleep masks. I got this one for my wife but I have one as well. Both of us have had both the silk masks and the standard material ones. Both of us would agree that while the cheaper one is very good, the silk ones are definitely worth the extra money. They feel nicer, an don’t seem to stretch out as much. Great for blocking out light too.

Effective "Blackout" Sleep Mask that's Comfortable Too
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Silk "breathes" and doesn't irritate the skin. Works well: This mask truly blocks all light, without requiring that the straps be tightened to the point of discomfort. Value for money: I've washed this once (as directed, before wearing, in the protective bag provided). There's already some "pilling" on the cover of the eye cups, so the durability of the mask is questionable.

ZERO light penetration and very comfortable.
I don't have bulging eyes, but I hate having anything pressing on them. I've tried and hated many sleep masks because they either let light creep in on the edges and/or I felt them pressing on my eyes. I've tried the cheap ones on flights where the elastic is so weak that they don't hurt my eyes, but they do a poor job of keeping the light out around the sides. I've tried some of my wife's sleep masks, but they too failed on one or more points. I LOVE this sleep mask. It is very comfortable for me to wear. I don't feel it touching my eyes. It lets in ZERO light when situated properly, even when in a brightly lit room. It is easy to put on and take off and adjust. It MOSTLY stays put through the night, but I blame that more on me than the mask. This mask is a bit pricey, but it's performing much better than any other's I've tried.

Downgrade over the pro (and worse than most other brands too)
I've been on a mission the last few weeks to try and test and find a sleep mask that does a few simple things - Block out ALL light, stay put enough through the night to not move around and end up letting in light, and be comfortable enough to not wake me up. Seems simple, I've tried all the best amazon has to offer, but many sleep masks fall short, and the manta silk is no exception to that. The cups do not put pressure directly on the eyeball, but they put pressure on the sockets around it, and this is a sensation I really do not like and can't bring myself to get use to . The cups themselves despite being coated with silk, are firmer and less squishy than the pro and ultimately much less comfortable. The firmness of the cups also is less conforming to the face, and they have to be placed an exact way to block out all the light. Move even slightly in your sleep ? They will move too and let in light. I do not find the eye cups comfortable, and I do not think they do the job of blocking out light and staying put, so these fail on all three of my marks. Compared to the manta pro, the pro is airier, cooler, more comfortable, and works significantly better. The pro pads are much more forgiving when it comes to placement, and feel softer against the eyes. I personally still do not like the way they feel against my eyes either, but they're considerably better than the silk, and works better too, as well as has a better band that keeps it put through the night and doesnt let in light. If you can get use to the weird eye sensation I would recommend the pro, the silk is not worth it at any price. Compared to ANY mask I've tried on amazon including mzoo, halos3d, alaska bear, and tempur pedic, I greatly prefer them all over the manta silk in both comfort and function. The manta silk just doesn't work well, isn't comfortable, and the price point makes it atrocious. If you want something cheaper almost any other option is better from other brands. If you like what manta has to offer get the pro version. The silk will be returned. I do not see a place or use case for it .

Good mask, but the Velcro likes to destroy silk.
A couple things to know about this. First, it’s extremely comfortable. If you position the eye pads right there’s no light pass through. My only issue with this, is that no matter how straight you place the Velcro on the back to line up, and especially if you didn’t crooked, or, if in setting it down sometimes the Velcro will stick on the front or somewhere else., it destroys the delicate silk on the sides. Mine looks pretty terrible in the back now. Imwould suggest a different type of Velcro, like the one that’s on my neck brace, it doesn’t stick to anything else but the strip designed for it. I still like the mask however.

Actual comfortable darkness
I've tried maybe ten or twenty different sleep masks over my lifetime, including some expensive / fancy ones. I have a large face and a big nose, and In the past I've always had a choice: set the mask too tight so it hurts my face / eyes, and I wake up in the middle of the night to take it off, or else set it loose enough that it comes off on its own while I sleep. This is the first time I can remember when that hasn't happened. I woke up this morning feeling downright disoriented because it felt like I'd slept all night, but my brain was convinced it was "still dark out". No pain or soreness, no eye pressure. I don't know if the eye cups are really silk or really the quality of silk that they advertise; I'm normally a stickler about this kind of thing (I'm the kind of customer who submits complaints to OEKO-TEX when I get products that don't match their certifications). But to be honest I don't care very much about that in this case; I got silk because I figured it won't damage my hair. Sure it might be even better if the eye cups felt silkier, but I'm thrilled to have found a sleep mask design that actually works for me.
