Q: What can i use to apply this to hardwood floors?

I used a mini dense foam roller on a long extension pole to spread the sealer evenly across the floor. It helps to use a generous amount when applying to keep sealer from foaming.

Q: Is this for bare wood only, or can it be used to restore on well sanded surface?

I installed 2500 sqft of 3/4" solid red oak and finished with Bona IntenseSeal (sealer), and Bona Mega (Satin). You will absolutely love the Bona system finishing products. Having thoroughly sanded your floors, I would recommend that you both seal (IntenseSeal) and top coat (finish) with one of the Bona finishes. I used Mega Satin, but you should know that there is also a Matte and a Gloss finish available. For both the sealer and the top coat, I used a 4" soft horse hair brush. I believe this is the best way to finish a floor. It gives the finisher a great deal of control. Further, both the sealer and top coat are extremely forgiving. It will be difficult to 'mess up'. You should know, however, both products dry fairly rapidly, so don't dawdle. Left to right, I typically finished the complete length of a couple rows at a time. In my opinion, the Bona products are outstanding. As the floor cures over time, the beauty of the wood becomes even more striking. You will not be disappointed with the Bona finishing system. Shake them well, do not be afraid, and have fun. Please wear a respirator.

This is not a final coat product. This is for sealing over a stained surface. It requires at least 2 coats of bona floor coat after. I used the bona mega product. This product is more of a satin as is the bona mega
