Dark Eagle

Being an avid fan of Simon scarrow , conn iggulden, and Ben Kane , I had been on the search for another author especially one who would write about Rome and the Roman legions and empire. I had looked at some of the reviews on this book and I ordered this with an open mind as some of the reviews were not very good. However I’m on chapter 18 and I find the plot and back story very interesting and I willl be buying more.

I've given this 4 stars because of the typo errors throughout the book. It should have been properly proof read before reaching the printers. In chapter 30 The 9 hills of Rome are mentioned to my knowledge There have only ever been 7.The story is based on The Exploratores* Rome's secret service ops.The plot revolves around a Syrian blacksmith held against his will who holds the secret of producing steele weaponry that renders the ordinary iron weapons used by the Roman army at the time useless, literally giving the enemies of Rome the edge. The Exploratores mission (should they choose to accept it) is to abduct the blacksmith and escort him back to rome.A mission that proves to be easier said than done.

Loved this book can’t wait to read the rest of the series

Looking forward to book two,great storyline in this first book apart from some editing issues it's a well written exciting look into a side of Roman warfare that doesn't get mentioned that often.No spoilers from me it's put together excellently,great battle scenes, from secret brothers in arms
