Update 8/7/25 Out of the many bug zappers I have tried, I am very glad to have discovered this brand. I have been given other brands to test out and several companies have tried to copy this brand, but other brands have fallen way short to the durability and performance in killing bugs like the Aspectek brand. My two older versions are about four years old and still work. Since the other brands are so inferior, I feel compelled and am willing to spend the extra time to tell how great this zapper is. I just tried their newest LED version of this bug zapper, but when I hung my two older zappers next to the new LED version, I observed that the older version zapped about twice to three times as many bugs. I will post a recent picture of my four year old zapper hanging next to an LED version to show what I am talking about. The pictures show ONE night’s worth of bugs. Beware that if you live in a heavily bug infested environment like I do, you will have to clean the grids each day. Because of this huge difference in performance, I just bought another brand new older version that still uses the fluorescent 10 watt tubes. I will be returning the LED version back. Yes, with the older version I have to replace my tubes about every year, an additional cost, but I want efficiency in killing bugs. The difference in the new version is that there is a new brace that screws the two outer safety grids together. I suspect that the reason is that the older style outer grids are difficult to snap into place and I have to pry them with a flat screwdriver to release. Since my older versions are around four years old, I do not remember the electrocution grids being so shiny made of stainless steel like the new one I just bought. The newest version does have narrower grid openings. Older version has a outer grid opening of 5/16 wheras the newest version has a 1/4 inch opening. This difference in grid openings will hinder larger bugs from entering. I have yet to compare the new old version to the old, four year’s old version. I hope you appeciate the comprehensiveness of this review. Original (old) product review: I am in my seventies and have purchased many bug zappers. It is difficult to find a robust zapper that not only has an effective electrocution grid, is easy to clean, and also has an effective set of lights that draw bugs and last a decent amount of time. I like that this zapper is about a third the price of the out door models I have purchased in the past that have died after one season’s use. The snap sound is about twice the volume of my outdoor models. The unfortunate handicap with this unit is that it must be used out of the weather. I am impressed with its sturdiness, and especially its high voltage electrocution grid. I know the electrocution voltage is high because it makes a startling loud, SNAPPING sound when an insect hits its grid. This can startle anyone close by and my dogs jump when the bug zapper snaps. The grid is sturdy and the spacing is narrow enough to easily kill flies and mosquitoes. I live in east Texas, out in the country where we get a decent amount of rain and livestock are close by to breed flies and mosquitoes. I have chickens that have suffered from annoying mosquitoes. The picture I posted shows my birds on their roost. They tolerate the loud snaps from insects being killed. I liked this zapper so much that I bought another one I will be installing on my patio. My main concern is how long the light and zapper grid will last. If this zapper prematurely fails, I plan to update this post. I was going to buy some smaller ones of this brand, but saw that several have posted that the lights burn out quickly. The main negative I have for this zapper is the electrical cord is inconveniently, way too short. For first impressions, I am very pleased.

The product is picking off the flour moths in my kitchen one by one. Seems to be getting the job done. And no chemicals. I recommend this product.

It works! But, my one dog is super afraid of the zapping noise so we can't use it around that dog.

Works great, got this due to the box elders getting indoors. Set this up and its been getting them. Had a small slide out tray to make cleaning easy. Was exactly what I was looking for and very pleased. If I had a complaint it would be that one of the clips for the chain supplied was missing and had to use a bread tie to hang from supplied chain.
